A Brighter Smile

When it comes to looking after our teeth, going for regular checks ups are not always high on our agenda, but there is one dental practice that is changing all that. Photography: SusieQ.co.uk

Wrea Green Dental Practice is not your average dental practice. It provides the very latest in dental technology and innovation. Located in the picturesque village of Wrea Green, at the helm is owner Dr Robert Bland.

With 35 years’ experience as a qualified dentist, Robert oversees all bespoke services, providing quality, comprehensive care in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, ensuring all patients receive the personal touch.

Patients really could not be in better hands. Professionally, Robert gained the diploma of membership from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2008. He followed that by achieving his master’s degree in dental Implantology at Sheffield University, carrying out original research on the prevention of surgical site infections. Robert was awarded The Fellowship in General Dental Practice by the Royal College of Surgeons in 2014, their highest award. He is also a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, part-time examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons in London and Edinburgh and an expert witness for the General Dental Council. In addition, he is currently studying for a master’s degree in medical law.

Providing family dental care, dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, tooth whitening and hygienist treatments, the team at Wrea Green Dental Practice understand that visiting the dentist can be stressful. For those who are particularly nervous, intravenous and inhalation sedation is administered by Robert and his team who treat patients from across the North West looking for this specific level of reassurance.

Robert and his team have a special interest in dental implants. Used to replace a single missing tooth, as well as multiple teeth, many dental practices refer patients to Wrea Green Dental Practice to undergo this treatment. Similarly, for those that suffer from temporomandibular disorder (jaw joint pain or jaw muscle stiffness), the team works in partnership with a local audiologist, who visits the establishment to offer their expertise.

The practice is equipped with a 3D cone beam scanner which takes the most detailed images of the jaws and teeth. Used in conjunction with state-of-the-art computerised record keeping, this gives the patient a clearer understanding of the treatment they require.

The increase in patients has seen the practice expand and take on an associate dentist, Dr Jake Simpkin, who qualified from The University of Central Lancashire. Before joining the team at Wrea Green, Jake gained experience working in general dentistry. Jake is caring and considerate, demonstrating excellent communication with patients and enjoys providing cosmetic dentistry. Jake is also actively working towards his Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh).

Wrea Green Dental Practice believes that natural teeth, with the correct care, should last for life. With various payment plans available, to help you maintain a healthy mouth, along with a quality, comprehensive dental service, performed in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, there really is no other place to go for that brighter smile.
