A CELEBRATION OF

LITERATURE & FILM

The inaugural Stonyhurst Literature & Film Festival is set to be an extravagant celebration featuring some of the UK’s best loved authors, screen writers, actors and academics, culminating in a stunning open air film night in the college grounds

Stonyhurst’s rich literary heritage and fascinating history make it the perfect backdrop for what is hoped will be the finest Literature & Film Festival in the north of England.

The Festival programme features a number of the College’s distinguished speakers including David Barnes, international Emmy Award winning filmmaker, and Debbie Horsfield, award-winning English theatre and television writer and producer. Over the last 425 years Stonyhurst College has been home to, and the inspiration for, some of history’s literary greats. The Stonyhurst Literature & Film Festival offers the perfect platform to share with visitors these strong literary connections.

The Stonyhurst Collections will be available to view throughout the festival and these feature an array of first editions, including some of the great works of literary history.

The newly founded Stonyhurst Literature & Film Festival promises to be a unique cultural celebration of the arts. It is a two-day festival culminating in a final celebration on Saturday evening with an open-air cinema screening of the Oscar-winning Bohemian Rhapsody, in the magnificent grounds of the College.

The Stonyhurst Literature and Film Festival is supported by main partner HIPPO Motor Group and delivered in association with Blackwell’s bookstore
