A HALL FOR ALL

Most people associate Waddow Hall with Rainbows, Brownies and Guides as it is owned and used as a centre of excellence by Girlguiding. However, it is very much a facility for all. The hall can be used by the whole community for anything from outdoor activities featuring canoeing, climbing and camping to weddings, celebrations and conferences.
The location of Waddow Hall makes it a true gem – the house sits majestically amidst the Ribble Valley countryside, above a cascading weir and the calmer waters of the River Ribble, where visitors can embark on kayaking and rafting adventures or just enjoy a leisurely walk, of which there are many.
There is a wide and varied programme of organised activities – not just for members of Girlguiding but for schools, organisations and private groups. Among the 30 different outdoor activities to experience at Waddow Hall are archery, grass sledging, orienteering, pond dipping, zip wire, treasure hunts and bushcraft.
In the evening guests can gather around the campfire on one of the eight camp sites, where there are first class shower facilities, or visitors have the option of staying at the hall itself, which has 29 en-suite rooms that can cater for up to 60 guests.
Also in the grounds are six self-catering cottages plus hostel style accommodation that can sleep 30 people.
Whether it’s an outdoor expedition, a conference or a celebratory party, Waddow Hall can cater for all with a licensed bar and a skilled head chef on site who can cook up hearty meals after a day outdoors or offer fine-dining for a more formal occasion.
In addition to hosting weddings and parties, Waddow Hall is also a great value conference venue with a difference. There are three conference rooms, including a large multi-purpose room for gatherings of up to 100 seated guests.
Throughout the year Girlguiding members from all over the UK use Waddow Hall as a residential outdoor activity centre that allows them to discover how much fun Girlguiding can be – while at the same time soaking up the beautiful Lancashire countryside.
Within the local and wider community, schools and other organisations are also discovering what a wonderful facility Waddow is – whether that’s for afternoon tea or a regular meeting place – the hall truly can cater for all.
Each year Waddow Hall holds an annual Easter Fun Day as well as a Christmas event that, this year, will see a ‘wonderland’ theme with light walks and a reindeer hunt.
If you are interested in any of the facilities at Waddow – whether that’s a wedding in a stunning location, a school activity day, a family adventure weekend or a private group camping expedition, call Waddow Hall to discover more about what this fabulous facility has to offer.
