A MAGICAL COUNTRY WEDDING…

A meticulous and well thought out plan to extend wedding facilities at Bashall Barn is underway – taking this renowned country wedding venue to a whole new level.

An extension, taking advantage of the magnificent views over Bowland, is due to be completed in April and will allow couples and their guests to enjoy a seamless day of celebrations. The new Bashall Brook Room, where wedding ceremonies take place, will nestle in the beautiful rural landscape, which has made Bashall Barn so popular.

Bashall Barn has become well known throughout the region as a lovely country wedding venue. Tell us about your plans for 2017.

“The Bashall Brook Room, where the bride and groom can get married, will have its own private access and be licenced for civil ceremonies. The new room will take full advantage of the surrounding views with glass bi-fold doors leading on to a large terrace, offering outdoor weddings if the weather is kind. If couples don’t get married here, the room can also be used as a drinks reception room before the wedding breakfast.”

What will the interiors décor be like in this newly created space?
“Our vision is that it will be very New England, white-wash panelling will run throughout and it will be very fresh and romantic. And, when the wedding party moves from the Bashall Brook room to the restaurant, this will have a magical marquee style canopy with romantic fairylights, tables dressed for the occasion and, of course, the busy kitchen that is usually open during the week, will be totally closed off to create a lovely, exclusive atmosphere for guests.”

Will regular customers still be able to use the place if there is a wedding on?
“Yes definitely! That’s one of the reasons we have decided to extend to effectively create three separate spaces that can be sub-divided. Once the wedding ceremony is over we open the dining area for the wedding breakfast, this area will be closed off from the rest of the facility by sound-proofed folding doors so our guests aren’t disturbed. In the evening when they have left, the area will be exclusively used by evening weddings guests so we can cater for up to 200 with the evening reception. It has taken a lot of careful planning but we feel we can achieve something that is truly unique. All these changes mean we can now offer a 1pm arrival to our wedding couples something we have not been able to do before.”

Bashall Barn is known for its delicious food and drink offering. Are you continuing to create all dishes in-house?
“Of course! All our wedding menus are created using local produce and all dishes are homemade. From the wedding favours, to a three-course meal and an exquisite wedding cake created by Cath, everything can be done here in our kitchens. And in the evening we can offer hog roasts or stone-baked pizza. We offer the full service.”
