A MARRIAGE MADE IN HEAVEN

From grand festivities to intimate celebrations, one of Lancashire’s finest venues has the perfect space for your wedding

When it comes to weddings in Lancashire, one venue has a longstanding reputation for perfection that goes back almost 70 years and that’s the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa in Clayton-le-Moors.

The exquisite 700 year old country manor has played host to the smallest, most intimate marriages to the most lavish, large celebrations imaginable – and everything else in between.

Understanding that every wedding is unique, the Dunkenhalgh’s wedding team are delighted to carefully design a bespoke package especially for you. After all, your wedding day is the most important day of your life.

The hotel has an array of splendid function rooms. Smaller weddings of around 30 can take place in the licensed Portrait Room, which features original artwork dating back hundreds of years, gold-adorned high ceilings and a grand fireplace.

The stunning Towneley Suite is flooded with natural daylight and offers stunning views across the countryside. Ideal for a civil ceremony, it has a private bar which leads onto lawns that are perfect for your reception drinks and photographs.

And distinguishing the Dunkenhalgh as Lancashire’s most comprehensive wedding venue is its Pendle Suite. Specially designed for outstanding affairs, this extravagant banqueting hall can hold over 350 guests. Boasting a stage and a fantastic dance floor, it sets the scene for a day to remember.

“The Pendle Suite lends itself to large events and can be adapted to suit any requirement. It has hosted a variety of cultural celebrations, is licensed for ceremonies and certainly offers the wow factor,” said regional sales manager, Louise Woodcock.

The Dunkenhalgh’s outstanding grounds offer an impeccable backdrop for images that truly capture those cherished memories. With 19 acres of parkland, pretty courtyards, manicured lawns, groomed gardens and a magnificent staircase, there’s a plethora of photo opportunities no matter the weather.

“As experienced professionals we’ve been through the wedding process thousands of times and we’re always available to give advice in relation to suppliers, timings and even the finer details such as the seating plan or menu.”

“One of the things I often find myself saying is that you can’t buy a wedding off a peg. Weddings are individual and we always strive to accommodate any requests, no matter how different they are to the so-called norm. If it’s important to you, it’s important to us,” said Louise.

With so many celebrations of love, the atmosphere at the Dunkenhalgh is always cheery, never more so than at one of their Wedding Open Days.

To find out more about getting married at the beautiful Dunkenhalgh, why not attend the hotel’s free of charge Wedding Open Day on Sunday 24th September from 12 noon until 4pm?
