A WINNING COMBINATION

Christmas at the Stag’s Head means hearty food, great service and a memorable performance by a huge festive brass band

When Martin Sanderson and his fiancée Rowena McAllister took over the Stag’s Head in Goosnargh their vision was to create a stylish, upmarket family-friendly pub that would appeal across the generations.

Today the Stag’s Head, with its country-style interiors, vintage leather chairs and heritage colours, attracts families with young children, couples dining on their own as well as groups of friends who all appreciate the friendly service as well as a great menu featuring modern British food.

Perfectly located for sourcing local produce, the chef at the Stag’s Head, Mark Scott, is able to select top class ingredients from producers within a mile of the pub, such as succulent fruit and vegetables from Thomas Moss, Johnson & Swarbrick chicken and duck as well as succulent steaks from Brendan Anderton butchers in Longridge.

Diners can expect to find a delicious Ribble Reward rump steak or Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire cheese and onion pie on the menu with a host of other equally delicious dishes.

Christmas time is a particularly jolly occasion at the Stag’s Head, which hosts an annual brass band concert featuring the entire Lostock Hall Memorial Band, which plays festive carols as well as popular chart-toppers.

This year the band will be playing between noon and 5pm on 9th December – it’s a perfect event for families to get in the Christmas spirit!
