Add Some Spice To Your Festivities

Touch of Spice, in the heart of Broughton, formerly known as Gate of Bengal, noted for fine Indian dining, has lots to offer for the festive season and beyond, writes Susan Osborne. Photography: SusieQPhotography.co.uk

It was always Iky’s dream to have his own Indian restaurant. That dream became reality in 2007 when he opened Gate of Bengal at Broughton crossroads offering a fine Indian dining experience to customers through his dedicated team and master chefs. Now headed by Iky’s son, Junior, the proud family tradition continues.

Junior is passionate about food provenance and wherever possible fine local produce is sourced. Potatoes, carrots, milk, eggs and yoghurt are all from the local area. Proud to be a gluten-free, nut-free establishment, Junior has plans for an additional vegan menu to be introduced in January. The vegan menu will have its own dedicated food storage and preparation area, dedicated cutlery and crockery.

The restaurant already has a very innovative No Sindian menu which includes a selection of sugar free, low fat dishes for guilt free dining without compromise on flavour. So, ladies and gents, don your party outfits and have some revolutionary guilt-free Indian food with your family and friends this party season.

As well as fine food and great service, there is lots going on at Touch of Spice to tempt you, such as, Soul, 80’s, and Motown evenings with live entertainment.

Charity nights are a regular feature and on 1st December, Touch of Spice is hosting a charity night in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice. ‘Fizzy’ Fridays are very popular, with prosecco on offer at £10 per bottle per booking. Sundays to Thursdays offer a three course meal for only £12.95.

For the festive period there is a fabulous Christmas Eve meal for £26.95 with a choice of dishes from the á la carte menu featuring a sublime range of master chef modern Indian cuisine.

Christmas Day gives diners the option to have a traditional English Christmas dinner with roast turkey and all the trimmings or a traditional Indian meal for £29.95 adults and £15.95 for children.

New Year’s Eve dining has two options: The main restaurant has a set menu on offer. Adults £19.95 and children £11.95. The Function Suite hosts a New Year’s Eve Banquet with a set menu, live entertainment and an amazing fireworks display, available from 9.00pm. Adults £39.95 Children £19.95.

Touch of Spice is a modern family-friendly Indian restaurant in an easy to find location at the Broughton crossroads offering ample free parking, wheelchair access, free Wifi and a fully stocked licensed bar. With 155 covers, they are well equipped to cater for parties and functions, offering set menus or á la carte.
