Inspiration abounds at Holden Clough Nurseries where Christmas has well and truly arrived!
Prepare for a magical Christmas adventure at Holden Clough, where visitors will discover a world of glittering gifts, glowing lights, roaring log fires, jingling sleigh bells and even an Arctic Polar bear!
Step into Christmas in the Glasshouse where the magical mouse carriage, filled with all kinds of Christmas mice and felt animals, is centred under the twinkling fairy lights of the glass roof.
With a festive garland above a blazing log fire, mirrors and lanterns and hand-picked furniture sourced from faraway lands, the decorative impact is stunning.
Explore a little further and you’ll see that everything has become Arctic themed with decorative churches and houses – not forgetting Hugo the Polar bear.
This festive display has been a year in the making so it’s bound to impress!
Walk through to the vibrant Indian Room, which is full of rainbow colours with hand-made, hand-painted Christmas baubles, illuminated bird cages featuring delightfully decorative birds – inspiration abounds here.
The Botanical Room has been transformed into a house plant oasis. A Christmas woodland theme will be created in November as we head towards the Christmas season.
On to the Potting Shed with its original Hungarian antique sleigh, novelty collectibles and if you follow the golden trail to the top of the Potting Shed, visitors can discover a whole host of exquisite, hand-picked gifts. From hand-crafted cheeseboards to homeware – there really is something for everyone.
On your journey around Holden Clough, a refreshment stop at the Shepherd’s Hut is a must with its Christmas-inspired menu including honey sausages, delicious toasties, warming soups and the most fantastic bacon ciabatta served with Lancashire tea or maybe a mulled wine.
Around the pergola will be the nursery’s annual delivery of Nordman Christmas trees arriving on 25th November, all individually named as we discover their personalities, making them an extra special festive addition to your home.
Wander down to the beck at the bottom to feed carrots to the Holden Clough donkey, which will be visiting on selected days throughout December, and while you’re down there check out the wonderful hand-made clay pots in the delightful Pots and Pithoi area.
