There is, arguably, no more iconic setting for a wedding in the beautiful Lake District than Storrs Hall Hotel

The lawns which sweep down to Lake Windermere and the lovely architecture of the historic manor house that is Storrs Hall, make an idyllic and impressive backdrop.

A wedding ceremony can take place outside in the pagoda, which is set amongst beautiful, landscaped grounds. However, if the weather is a little chilly outside, the ceremony can take place in the stunning drawing room, where giant windows frame the views of the lake to perfection.

Then there’s the spectacular food. Award-winning head chef Ross Marshall, who some will recognise from MasterChef: The Professionals, will create delicious fine dining for the wedding breakfast.

But no wedding ceremony is simply about a stunning location or wonderful food. It’s about finding a unique place where couples can celebrate with those who matter most – whether that’s just the two individuals themselves, or a party packed full of friends and family.

At Storrs Hall the aim is to make the day as personal as possible. Andrew Nicholson, General Manager of Storrs Hall, says: “If a couple want a quiet ceremony with just our friendly staff as witnesses, or if they want a lively big occasion, we will make it happen.”

With ‘Intimate Day’ and ‘Exclusive Use’ wedding packages available, every need can be catered for. The team at Storrs can even arrange a cruise on the lake from the hall’s private jetty!

“We will go above and beyond to create the perfect wedding or civil ceremony – and that includes the build up to the big day,” said Ashleigh Campbell, Storrs Hall’s dedicated wedding and events co-ordinator.

Storrs Hall has two impressive dining rooms with unsurpassed views. The Terrace Restaurant seats up to 80 people for a formal wedding breakfast. The smaller John Bolton dining room offers a more intimate experience for up to 22 guests. Other guests love the Counties Meet room, for up to 40 friends and family.

And then there is Storrs Hall’s beautiful accommodation, which can be booked for exclusive use. In the main hotel there are 30 luxury bedrooms and suites, with additional accommodation available in the woodland lodges, which are ideal for families and groups.

Storrs Hall’s boathouse is the perfect place to honeymoon, couples can relax in their private hot tub with a glass of chilled Champagne, as a firepit blazes nearby.

Smaller occasions can also be arranged with or without accommodation, with up to 15 bedrooms available for non-exclusive bookings.
