Award Winning Estate Agency

Celebrates A Decade

There’s no doubt that the last 10 years has seen a great deal of change in the world of estate agency but by remaining customer focused and developing a knowledgeable and dedicated team, this Penwortham-based estate agency continues to exceed its customer’s expectations, writes Emma Brereton. Roberts&Co was opened in 2012 by Managing Director Emma Roberts, who after establishing a career in financial planning, took the opportunity to create an estate agency with two co-directors, that would use her transferrable skills, local knowledge and passion for property as the main tools for success. Her vision was to invest in a team that knows the areas where their two offices are based, Penwortham and Lostock Hall, like the back of their hands.

Emma said: “I am hugely proud of the business we have built over the last decade and I am grateful to every person who has chosen to buy, sell, rent or let with us. When someone lists their property for sale, they’re trusting us with their biggest asset – something we don’t take lightly.

“The property market in Penwortham has seen a real boom recently in terms of property prices but it’s definitely starting to level off. That’s not to say that properties aren’t coming to market, quite the opposite. We are seeing more homes being listed which is allowing for more choice for those looking to move, resulting in a less frenzied market.”

A short drive down Liverpool Road in Penwortham and you can see why the town is a much sought-after area. Lower Penwortham was developed during the Victorian period with Higher Penwortham a little later, its streets are characterised by Victorian, 1920’s and post-war semi-detached housing.

Today Penwortham boasts a bustling high street with beautiful independent shops, bars and restaurants. This is complemented by a plethora of period homes and underpinned by excellent schools – it’s no wonder the town is increasingly becoming one of the most desirable suburbs to live.

“The town is well known in Preston for its quality of schools and the recent influx of cafes and restaurants and independent retailers, has injected the town with a new lease of life,” adds Emma.

Roberts&Co recently won the most prestigious British Property Award for PR1 and PR5 resulting in both branches winning Gold for property sales, whilst their lettings department scooped a regional award-winning Silver for Lancashire. Furthermore, Rightmove has ranked the agency as being number one for sales agreed in both branch-core areas. To celebrate these accolades, as well as the team’s 10-year anniversary, the agency has partnered with the homeless charity Emmaus and has committed to donating a share of all property sales fees for 2022.

Emma said: “We really wanted to help a local charity and Emmaus felt like a good fit. Emmaus goes to great lengths to help those who have found themselves homeless by providing accommodation, welfare support and the opportunity to gain work experience in one of its three superstores in the city selling new and used goods. I hope that we have a bumper year to help Emmaus as much as we possibly can.”
