BACK TO HER ROOTS

After heading a well-known salon franchise for 10 years, Cass Preston has returned to her roots to launch the Ribble Valley’s newest independent salon, Lusso Hair.

Named after her two daughters, Lucie and Sophie, Lusso is coincidentally also Italian for luxury, which couldn’t be more fitting given the ethos of the freshly branded salon: “Our aim is to offer a warm, friendly welcome like you’d expect of an independent village salon, whilst also maintaining a sumptuous, urban-style setting in which you can luxuriate and enjoy your Lusso experience,” explained Cass.

The chic salon provides the perfect environment for such a task with Farrow & Ball painted interiors complementing a plush decor to create a tranquil haven away from the stresses and strains of daily life.

“An appointment at the hairdressers, whether for a simple trim or a complete image overhaul, should be a treat – a special bit of ‘me time’. At Lusso Hair we offer all the finishing touches to guarantee this is what our clients get,” said Cass, whose 25 years of experience in the industry make her one of the most accomplished salon owners in the region.

“All of our treatments include a relaxing steamed towel head massage using fragrant lemongrass oil and our complimentary refreshments include Lusso’s specially selected, freshly ground Italian coffee.”

And tantalising coffee isn’t the only handpicked element of Whalley’s exclusive new hair salon. The complete product range from Kerastase, the finest in luxury hair care, is still available to purchase in salon and the Wella brand takes centre stage in Lusso’s arsenal of products following hours of hands-on research by Cass and her innovative team.

Wella Professionals’ premium Illumina colour for luminous and healthy-looking hair provides Lusso with a versatile range for colour transformations of all kinds, offering beautiful permanent, semi-permanent and toning colour and contemporary iridescent coverage. Supported by award-winning Koleston Perfect Innosense permanent colour, which offers 100 per cent grey coverage and is formulated without pPD/pTDs to reduce hypersensitivity and the Colour Touch ammonia-free colouring option, the highly-revered brand is at the forefront of hair care and colouring.

“I previously owned an independent salon in Whalley for 10 years before joining the franchise and I used to work with the Wella brand. Being an independent salon owner once again and using such a respected product range feels like going back to my roots! I’m really proud of Lusso Hair and I can’t wait to see my salon succeed well into the future,” said Cass.

With so many redeeming aspects and so much experience at its helm, there’s no doubt that Cass’s salon will prosper, but she’s quick to point out one of the key reasons behind both her business’s smooth transition and the endless positive feedback they receive from clients: “It wouldn’t be possible without my incredible team of staff. They’re as supportive as they are talented – I honestly can’t praise them enough!”

The Lusso Hair team members have all been with Cass for too many years to mention and one of the rewards for their commitment comes in the shape of increased training options. Salon Manager Donna, Creative Stylist and high-ranking specialist at the 2018 L’Oréal Colour Trophy, Oli, Level 3-qualified Stylist Harriet and Graduate Stylist Connie can all now benefit from a plethora of skill-cultivating opportunities led by hairdressing’s top guest stylists.

“There are no limitations on the types of training courses my amazing team members can attend. Fine-tuning their individual abilities and expanding their knowledge base is an investment in their careers and in Lusso. In supporting them, they support the salon,” explained Cass.

One of the most recent training courses attended by Lusso’s team saw them hone their skills in festival hairstyling ready for the summer season. From on trend plaits to boho waves, they are now armed with the expertise to get you fully festival-ready.

To book an appointment at Lusso Hair, Whalley’s newest independent hair salon, whether for funky festival plaits, a precision cut or a fabulous colour, simply call the salon on 01254 823333. Cass and her all-star team are ready to welcome clients old and new and to give them a salon experience they’ll want to repeat again and again.
