BARROWFORD FESTIVAL IS BACK

The hugely popular Barrowford Festival is making a comeback and is sparking quite a buzz!

Attracting crowds of several thousands to Barrowford Park, the Barrowford Festival is an event for the whole family, with food, drink, music, children’s activities and much more.

The new team at the helm includes established local chef Paul Dickson and hospitality general manager at Burnley Leisure Mark Dempsey, who is well versed in organising large foodie events – both are Barrowford residents themselves – plus wedding host and DJ, Ryan Smith, who is in charge of entertainment on the main stage.

Such experience has enabled them to draw in the very best food, drink and entertainment package for the village event.

Mark explains: “There has been a real excitement about the festival’s return, which is incredible for us to see and confirms just why we are doing this.

“We promise a true family event, with plenty of children’s activities, food and gift stalls for all and of course, a whole host of musical talent from Pendle and beyond.”

Hippo Motor Group have generously agreed to be headline sponsor for the one-day event, while other local businesses are getting involved by having stalls or sponsoring flags to line Gisburn Road.

Ryan adds: “We wanted the event to benefit local causes and as such, a percentage of all ticket sales will this year go to charities Pendleside Hospice and MIND, as well as Barrowford Primary School, St Thomas’ C of E Primary School and Sacred Heart RC Primary School all of who are manning the three entrances to the park.”

Tickets are £5 per adult and all children under the age of 12 with a paying adult will enter free of charge. The event will run from 11-30am to 8pm. For further details please visit the Barrowford Festival Facebook page @BarrowfordFest.
