Named after Lydia Ward’s grandmother and two great aunts, Winnie Nellie Jessie is home to a beautifully curated collection of stunningly soft sheepskin rugs and accessories.
After returning from London to her Lancashire roots, Lydia’s first sheepskin rug was so admired by friends that she created a collection of Icelandic and rare breed British sheepskins, ethically sourced and hand-finished in Yorkshire.
“I love the fact that they are sustainable and built to last. They are the antidote to mass produced, throwaway furnishings.
“The Icelandic rugs are very luxurious with longer wool while the British rare breeds are very thick and sturdy. They are so adaptable – you can move them around your home and they look fantastic anywhere!
“They are all unique and individually named. The dappled ones have markings that really show up on the cream background, the plain whites are often bigger and very fluffy and soft while people also love the greys, which are on-trend – and the pink ones make lovely gifts.”
Winnie Nellie Jessie, which has recently added sheepskin seat pads to its collection, is located at Smug Fox on the lower section of Wellgate in Clitheroe, where a selection of beautiful sheepskins can be purchased.
Lydia will also be taking her curated collections to the Christmas Fairs at Holden Clough Nurseries as well as working with other local businesses.
