Beautifully Bespoke

Following considerable investment in its online presence, James and Rose bespoke furniture is taking residence in homes all over the world, writes Emma Brereton

You sit on your sofa every day, aside from your bed, the sofa is probably the most used piece of furniture in the house. With that being the case, it’s worthwhile investing in the highest quality sofa.

With more than 30 years’ experience in upholstery, James and Rose is truly inspiring for those seeking something extra special when it comes to interior design. Tony Reynolds is at the helm of this family business with more than 30 years’ experience in upholstery. Dedicated to building high quality furniture, James and Rose is truly inspiring for those seeking something extra special when it comes to interior design and this is evident in every beautiful sofa, dining set, coffee table or bed the team produces.

“Every single piece of furniture designed and crafted by James and Rose is bespoke,” says Tony. “The options are endless and so we rarely make the same sofa twice.”

The onsite beautiful showroom showcases a range of styles based around the traditional Chesterfield and corner sofas to fit any dimension – the perfect setting to get your design juices flowing.

Tony explains that the revamped website allows customers to have the freedom to effectively build their own sofa.

“You’re in full control of the design and that process can start by requesting sample fabrics. You can choose any colour and they will be sent out the same day.”

“We have hundreds of fabrics and leathers to choose from and if you can’t choose just one then we can do patchwork designs too which are proving to be very popular.”

All frames are made from carefully selected beech timber, the pieces have fully sprung seat back and arms with the best quality, high resilient upholstery foam. Lesser quality is just not an option with a James and Rose sofa.

One of James and Rose’s recent customers, Rachel Palmer, has been delighted with the whole customer experience.

She said: “Buying furniture from James and Rose has been the most amazing experience. I cannot express how grateful I am for their patience and helpfulness.”

“Throughout the whole planning phase – it took time and multiple samples to find the right fabric – Dave was brilliant, advising on alterations and working really hard to provide just what I wanted. The end result is fabulous and totally unique as they even changed the arm shape of the standard design to suit my request.”

“I couldn’t be happier and I’m secure in the knowledge that should I need to get it recovered in the future, they will undertake the work for me. Top notch and good value in my opinion for achieving a unique look and maximum comfort.”

Tony explains the company’s secret to some of the best craftsmanship in Lancashire: “It’s a combination of traditional skills and the best available upholstery components that create a stunning piece of workmanship. Nothing is mass produced and our main aim is to make something that will last a lifetime.”

The company has also expanded to include a range of sofas for your dog. A great solution if you’re worried about your pet ruining your new sofa or if you just want to treat the pampered pooch in your life.

Tony said: “A man’s best friend deserves only the nicest place to lay their head. Our luxury dog sofas come in the same choice of fabrics or leathers as our sofas and can be made as a replica of the one you have ordered.”

Made according to dog size, you can use several breeds as a guideline for your order; pug, Beagle, Labrador, Shepard or Dane.

James and Rose has also introduced bespoke beds to its collection, so after you’ve lazed on the sofa all day, you can look forward to sweet dreams in a made to measure bed. Just as the sofas, all beds are handcrafted with an aim to bring luxury, comfort and style into your bedroom.

Should you wish to visit the exquisite showroom at James and Rose, complete with a guided tour of the workshop you are more than welcome. Simply call to make an appointment Monday to Saturday. It’s a great opportunity to see some of its pieces in production as well as getting to try some of the sofas first hand.
