BEST DAY EVER!

Happy couple Liz and Sam enjoyed the best day ever when they married in the Ribble Valley. Here they tell us all about their big day.
Where and how did you meet?
We met at university in Liverpool via a mutual friend on a freshers night out and had a cheeky snog around nine years ago! We didn’t speak for a while afterwards but then Sam started messaging me and we started speaking every day. We met up and the rest is history!
Why did you choose to marry in Lancashire?
We are both from the North West but more towards the Greater Manchester area. When searching for wedding venues we fell in love with the Ribble Valley and its surroundings and couldn’t think of a better location for friends and family to visit for our wedding.
What made you pick Samlesbury Hall and how did you first hear about it as a wedding venue?
While searching for our venue we saw a few lovely hotel venues. However, we felt they weren’t quite us. We came across Samlesbury Hall and attended an open evening. We instantly fell in love with the building and the history behind it, we felt it represented us both especially Sam, who is a history teacher. We loved the exclusivity and the shepherds’ huts for the guests to stay in! The staff were lovely and it was very easy to make the decision that this was where we wanted to get married.
What did you eat for your wedding breakfast?
We had the pate to start, chicken for main and cheesecake for dessert. The food was amazing and guests were full of compliments regarding the breakfast and the canapes. Even though we were running behind schedule due to the speeches, the food was still fabulous!
Did the team at Samlesbury Hall help you in making decisions?
The team were great at helping us plan the day. They are more than willing to make time to see you to discuss any questions. Rachael was particularly helpful at making you feel at ease. You can put your trust in them completely, to ensure the day runs smoothly. They are full of ideas and more than willing to accommodate any suggestions. If they can do it, they will! We can’t thank them enough for making our day so special. It ran so smoothly we didn’t have to worry about a thing.
What was the very best part of your day?
The whole day was absolutely amazing – we loved it from start to finish! I don’t think we can choose one best bit, but some of the highlights included the ceremony itself, the speeches, the food and the party on the dance floor – all night!
Samlesbury Hall is an amazing venue. It has everything you could wish for – a great building and grounds, fantastic food and staff, who work very hard to ensure you have a fabulous day. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to come back to visit again. Thank-you – it was the best day ever!
