Better Vision

In Three Easy Steps

Keeping a close eye on your vision starts with a good optometrist, writes Emma Brereton. Photography: SusieQPhotography.co.uk

At The Spectacle Factory in Bamber Bridge customers can expect to get the best possible vision. Going the extra mile for every single customer, the team ensures that you are the highest priority as soon as you walk through the door.

“We like to really get to know our customers,” says Robert Sands from The Spectacle Factory. “It’s important that during a consultation, each client is made to feel at ease, isn’t rushed and that we do all we can to get to know all about them.”

Getting to know a customer in this way doesn’t sound like it has much to do with choosing a pair of glasses, but quite the contrary, Robert explains that a good relationship is of the utmost importance.

“We feel we can only help a customer choose their perfect glasses when we have taken the time to get to know them. Your glasses are the first thing someone sees and we want them to make a great first impression and convey their unique character. We also want to personalise their vision around the activities that are important to them, for example driving, working on a computer or sports such as golf.”

The Spectacle Factory is the top rated optician in Lancashire according to Google and the eye specialists have got the process down to three steps. “The first step is an appointment with an expert optometrist who will spend 50 per cent longer than the industry average with every customer using the latest equipment to get the most accurate results,” says Robert.

Step two is where the team helps the client choose the perfect lens type by demonstrating how different technologies can affect their vision. Followed by the third step where the customer is analysed using a sophisticated measuring system.”

Robert explains that this involves using a machine called the iTerminal which allows your glasses to be made ten times more accurately than normal.

Choosing the frame is the fun part and The Spectacle Factory scour the globe to find individual designers that only produce glasses, which means their stock is different to anywhere else.

Robert adds: “We travel to Milan, Paris, Berlin as well as other cities to ensure we have glasses that are the best quality and as unique as each of our customers.”

Mandy Quinn, who has been a customer of The Spectacle Factory for several years told us about the excellent care she has had since her very first appointment. She said: “All the staff are extremely patient and helpful. They all get involved when you’re trying on frames to make you feel relaxed and confident.

“Nothing is too much trouble and you’re never rushed. I have been there for three hours before deciding on the perfect frame. I can’t recommend them enough, they’ve taken the time to get to know me and my eyes and what I need to look after their health.”

Robert adds: “Our aim is long term care, that’s why we automatically arrange follow up appointments and service our customers glasses every six months for free.”
