BOLD & BEAUTIFUL

Bold, bright patterns are the must have interiors trend for 2018

Achieve the maximalist look with new cushions from Felt which feature strong geometric shapes and tribalistic designs.

The cushions are created by simultaneously cutting a pattern through two differently coloured sheets of felt then separating and re-combining the pieces to create two cushions with the same identical pattern but each in the opposite colourway. The cushion pairs form a perfect positive and negative.

Backed with either linen or felt, cushions from Felt come in a vivid array of colours and patterns, are 50cm square and cost £120 each or £200 for a pair.

A wide selection is always available from stock and bespoke cushions can also be commissioned.

The cushions reflect the rugs that Felt imports direct from Kyrgyzstan to the UK.

For over two and a half thousand years, the nomadic peoples of the remote Tien Shan mountains in Kyrgyzstan have created dazzling 100 per cent wool rugs that are regarded as works of art. Called shyrdaks, they have a tough flattened felt base sewn with geometric patterns.

Made outdoors by tribal women, each rug takes a master cutter and her team of makers between 10 and 20 days to complete.
