BUILT ON QUALITY

Hanson Construct owner Robert Hanson reflects on the first 12 months of business, and looks forward to the year ahead, writes Lauren Molyneux

With years of experience in construction under his belt, Robert Hanson decided to leap at the opportunity to open his own contracting firm in 2017. Since its first day of trade last year, Hanson Construct has seen great expansion and growth, with the firm now managing several building projects for both domestic and commercial clients.

“I first began working in construction at the age of 16. When I was fresh out of high school I sought some advice on what should be my next step, and the careers advisor suggested a role in construction. I was put on a placement to do some work on a project at Towneley Hall and immediately found that I not only had a knack for it, but I also really enjoyed it! I’ve been working in the trade ever since.”

After beginning his career as a junior site manager working on smaller projects, Robert soon found himself progressing into more demanding roles. “I managed to work my way up from a role as junior site manager to project manager at a young age. I was working on a project down in Cambridge when the opportunity arose to set up my own firm back up north. I decided to go for it, and I’m so happy that I took that leap. Hanson Construct has been growing steadily since we first began trading, and we’re all enjoying the wonderful reputation our work is generating.”

The business may only be in the early stages of development, however an increasing client-base and workload has seen the team expand to a workforce of 25.

“We are a relatively new business and I’m still learning the ropes, but we have already managed to secure work on some substantial projects, and I’m incredibly proud of the team for delivering consistently exceptional results.”

“The responses we have received for our work have been incredible, and recommendations from clients, architects, developers and fellow tradespeople have really helped with building the business in its first year of trade.”

“I couldn’t wish for a better team of staff. They are all professional and highly-qualified, and are as dedicated to each project as I am. We are equally passionate about delivering an excellent service and a final product that clients are happy with.”

Amongst Hanson Construct’s portfolio is a stunning barn and stables conversion in Fence along with several developments for a client in Hurst Green.

2019 will see the firm take on housing development projects in Colne, Hurst Green and Weir, the conversion of the old Barnoldswick Primary School site into 11 apartments, as well as fit out works to various banks nationwide.

“I can’t wait to see what 2019 brings for Hanson Construct,” says Robert. “Ultimately, I’m looking forward to being able to continue with building some strong professional relationships with clients and developers, maintaining our high standards of excellence, expanding our client base even further and delivering great results.”

“We take a great deal of pride in the professional service that we offer and our first priority is to keep clients happy. The work we have been completing on various properties over the last 12 months really speaks for itself, and we like to invite clients to pay us a visit any time, either in the office or on the actual site, so they can see for themselves what it is that we do best. Maintaining that communication with the client is so important, and we offer competitive prices which are very rarely beaten. If you have a project in mind, whether that be an extension on your family home or something bigger, we’re always happy to chat about your ideas and see what we can do for you.”
