Top chef appointment
Preston based, Bake That, has appointed top local chef, Stephen Midgley, as its first Creative Director. Stephen has worked as a chef at several Michelin star restaurants including; Raffles Hotel and 36 On The Quay, Hampshire. His creative talents and passion for pastry will ensure he has a key role in developing the contents. When subscribers to Bake That receive their monthly box, it contains the correct amount of ingredients and a step by step recipe card.

Office move
Vincents Solicitors has relocated to new premises in Garstang after 17 years. The Lancashire law firm has moved out of its very first office in Bridge Street, where the business began in 2000, and into a newly refurbished building across town. The six-strong team is now based at Rope Walk. The new home, formerly a veterinary practice, has undergone a £30,000 refurbishment to create a series of modern offices and consultation rooms, and a welcoming waiting area.

Promoting fairness
Blackpool has been awarded Fairtrade status for its commitment to Fairtrade principles, following a five-year campaign. The resort is now officially a Fairtrade Town, after it made a resolution in 2012 to actively promote fairness to consumers, businesses and community groups in the area. The Blackpool Fairness Commission, has committed itself to the importance of fairness across the resort by carrying out a number of activities in communities which are home to people who are less privileged than others.

Celebrating a sweeping success at two of the country’s leading leisure and hospitality awards, The Spa Hotel at Ribby Hall has added to its remit with The Good Spa Guide ‘Best for Customer Service’ award and was a finalist at the highly regarded AA awards. Runner up to The Savoy London, the ‘Customer Choice’ award was solely based on the best actual guest reviews from 175 different online review sites in 45 different languages.

New showroom development
Bowker has received official planning permission from the city council to build a new 43,000 square feet Porsche Centre in Preston. Porsche Centre Preston will transform the site at the junction of Watery Lane and West Strand. The building design features a 35-car showroom and a 13-bay workshop. Work on the new Porsche Centre is expected to commence in the spring with the building scheduled to open later in the year.
