KATE’S MARKETING ROLE
The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa has announced the appointment of Kate Ecob, who has joined the business following seven years as Marketing Manager for the East Lancashire Railway, which saw its footfall increase by 40 per cent and turnover double, during her tenure. In her new role, Kate will be responsible for developing and driving forward a strategic marketing agenda, to ensure growth of market share and achievement of financial targets.
Meanwhile, sporting heroes Alistair and Jonny Brownlee formally opened the gym and studio at the Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa, where guests had the opportunity to meet the brothers in person. The new facilities include a Concept2 SkiErg and other state-of-the-art equipment including Concept2 rowers recognised by Olympic athletes.

TOP AWARD
Fine & Country Ribble Valley were commended at the Fine & Country Conference and Awards ceremony, where they took the North West Region Fine & Country Award. Held at QE11 Centre in Westminster the awards were presented after a full day at the Fine & Country annual conference, where new strategies were revealed to keep the brand at the cutting edge. Delegates also heard from keynote speakers such as Lord Sebastian Coe, and industry experts.
The North West Region Award was collected on stage by Richard Powell – Ryder and Dutton/Mortimers Group Managing Director. Jason Preston, Head of Fine & Country Ribble Valley, commented: “This award is a culmination of our efforts throughout the last 12 months and a symbol of our commitment to excellence within the property industry.”

JOBS SECURED
Monte Hotels, which is owned by Euro Garages brothers, Mohsin and Zuber Issa, will be acquiring the operating business of Stanley House Hotel & Spa. The brothers had previously acquired the land and property assets of the hotel only, from Leehand Leisure in October 2019. The new owners have vowed to make significant investment in the estate after announcing the takeover to staff, signalling a new era. The current Stanley House directors will oversee day to day operations until September 2020 with Monte Hotels taking operational control from 1st October 2020. The business will continue as usual and the hotel will now be taking bookings beyond this date. Stanley House currently employs 85 staff, whose jobs have now all been secured.

NEW APPOINTMENT
Law firm Farleys Solicitors has welcomed the arrival of solicitor Ashley Marshall to its expanding Private Client team. Ashley brings vast experience advising individuals, families and business owners on a wide range of private client matters and wealth protection, including wills, trusts, inheritance tax, probate and estate planning.
He also adds to the firm’s specialist expertise in Court of Protection, Powers of Attorney and mental capacity matters. He joins Farleys with 13 years’ experience working across the Lancashire community. Ashley commented: “I am delighted to have joined Farleys, a firm which prides itself on down to earth legal expertise. The breadth of expertise is very impressive and as such I am really excited to join such a reputable team.”

EVAS TENTH ANNIVERSARY
For 10 years, the Enterprise Vision Awards (EVAS) have been trailblazers in highlighting the achievements and innovations of the North West’s women in business. Encouraging diversification and empowerment, the awards showcase the region’s positive role models inspiring women to succeed.This year, there are 19 categories to enter including four new ones Family Business, Franchisee, Charity and Employee. EVAS2020 is open to all businesswomen in the North West. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony and presentation dinner which will take place on 25th September at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.

GROUP’S DESIGN ACCOLADE
Stanley House Veterinary Group has been recognised with a design award for a £600k expansion refurbishment. An independent veterinary practice which has been operating from their Colne headquarters for almost 100 years, the business received the President’s Award at the recent prestigious British Veterinary Hospitals Association Design Awards ceremony in Westminster.
Stanley House won the award for the most imaginative and ingenious re-design of an older building. The re-design with the addition of the building next door, has resulted in five consulting rooms, a completely re-designed reception and waiting area, two operating suites and dedicated imaging and dental suites.
