CARIBBEAN CHRISTMAS!

With some fantastic events in the pipeline, the team at the Black Bull is looking forward to a fun-filled summer

Constantly refreshing what they do to keep ahead of the game, the team at the Black Bull Inn have a line-up of fabulous events this summer!

Expect acoustic jazz evenings, a saxophonist and a sunshine-filled Caribbean Christmas!

“Everyone missed out on a proper Christmas last year so we decided to go one better – we’ll be getting our Bermuda shorts on, there will be a Caribbean-style menu and of course, there will be a steel band!” says an enthusiastic Jamie Govier, who runs the pub with partner Rebecca Govier.

As just one of the highlights of the summer, the fun-filled Caribbean Christmas event will also see the team launch this year’s actual Christmas menu, which will feature first class food and a festive experience for which the Black Bull Inn has become renowned.

In recent weeks, the team has been strengthened once again with an additional restaurant manager along with additional new chefs, who are putting a fresh twist on the summer menu.

On both the a la carte and garden and bar menus, many favourites will remain but expect to find some new, exciting dishes with a truly modern take on traditional classics and fine dining.

Eating outdoors remains just as magical at the Black Bull Inn with its impressive stretch tent, known as the pavilion and new patio area, with twinkling pontoon lighting, outdoor heaters and comfortable seating.

“We have made the decision to retain table service even when all restrictions have been lifted,” says Jamie. “It has been really successful in terms of our guests engaging with our team and it also reflects the high level of service that we offer at the Black Bull Inn. Our aim has always been to focus on great service and customer experience.”

Over the coming months there will also be regular barbecues at the Black Bull Inn as well as pop-up street food: “We have already enjoyed a barbecue in the sunshine – it was really popular so we will definitely be organising more over the summer,” adds Jamie.

Inside there are distinct areas to the inn that lend themselves to very different dining experiences. The stunning Fire Barn restaurant represents an opportunity to enjoy fine dining with family and friends, while the rustic bar is the perfect place for walkers to enjoy a hearty meal and a pint in front of a roaring log fire.

The cosy library has now become a piano room – with its grand piano and feature clock, this intimate space is now available for private dining with a tailored menu to suit small groups of guests.

Located in the heart of the Old Langho community, the historic Black Bull Inn has been transformed by Jamie and Rebecca into a fabulous 21st century venue that works on every level whilst retaining its centuries old character.

Paired with excellence in food and drink, the surroundings are elegant yet comfortable – meaning guests will have an ultimately enjoyable experience when they visit.

Creating something unique is what Jamie and Rebecca set out to do and they could not have wished for a more successful return after lockdown.

“It’s a very exciting time for us,” says Rebecca. “The outdoor area has been a phenomenal success so we’re not changing anything. We are also glad to be welcoming diners back inside too, so they have the best of both worlds.

“We’re getting our fabulous events schedule off to a great start and we are looking forward to a busy summer!”
