The Flooring Centre opened in 2008 by husband and wife Steve and Sue Morton and their son Michael. Three years later, Michael’s sister Michelle joined them, cementing it as a family business. “Dad is still very much hands on,” says Michelle. “He is an integral part of day to day business, our customers love the fact the main owner comes out to measure up.”

With one of the most experienced and knowledgeable teams in the area, every customer is in the safest of hands. “We do everything from the initial measure up, through to removing old floors and clearing rooms for fitting. We also ensure the team attends all current training courses, to keep us up to date with any industry changes and development.”

“We have recently added two other well-respected lines to our range of products,” says Michelle. The first is Axminster carpets which has been in existence since 1755. The second brand is Associated Weavers – one of the biggest producers of tufted broadloom carpet in Europe. Famous for its innovative designs, it has been a trendsetter since it opened in the 60s.
