CELEBRATION TIME

Katie Green, founder of award-winning Heart of your Home Kitchens is celebrating five years in business. Over that time, she has worked on many stunning projects in prestigious homes across the Ribble Valley

It’s been five years since Katie Green, founder of Heart of your Home Kitchens, set up her hugely successful business. Katie’s eye for design is classically elegant and her attention to detail has put Heart of your Home Kitchens way ahead in terms of design and practicality.

Working from her beautiful studio in the Waddington countryside, Katie says: “Potential clients make an appointment to come here and what they see in the studio really influences them. They love the 1909 Collection and they are greatly influenced by the colour combinations, often choosing the same because it works so well.”

The 1909 Collection features numerous designs that are available in many different colourways and Katie can also advise on complementary worktops, appliances and handles. When potential customers visit the studio they can see this for themselves – the beautiful Half Pencil and Scalloped 1909 cabinetry is displayed in Partridge Grey, Charcoal and Chalk, a fabulous colour combination that really appeals to clients: “When people visit my studio it really makes an impact,” says Katie, who has far surpassed all her expectations in the number of kitchen installations she has been involved with since the start of her business.

“As the years have gone by the business has evolved. I set out to become a designer and installer of exclusive bespoke kitchens and that’s what I have achieved.

“We are not your typical high street kitchen store, we are an appointment only design studio, which gives us exclusivity and when clients visit they know from the outset that they are dealing with me personally, that’s my USP. I will talk them through all the options available, carry out a home design survey and put together a unique design concept for them to view on my big screen in the studio.

“One of the most challenging and memorable kitchens I installed between the lockdowns last year was at a five bedroom farmhouse in the heart of the Ribble Valley.

“It was one of the most extensive projects I have completed – it involved opening up what was a small kitchen and creating a lovely living space, pantry and boot room. The clients had a really good idea of what they wanted in terms of the style and the look they wanted to achieve.

“The couple installed a traditional AGA and an elegant mix of Ovolo, Half Pencil and Scalloped style cabinetry from the 1909 Collection. They opted for Charcoal and Dove Grey with brass handles which worked really well, together with farmhouse sinks from Shaw’s of Darwen and Perrin and Rowe for the gold filter and boiling water taps.”

At Katie’s suggestion the clients chose a pantry in Dove Grey with matching Carrera White Marble worktops running through from the kitchen. As always, throughout the project Katie kept in touch with her clients giving them regular updates.

“It really was a pleasure to work alongside them on their extensive renovation project,” she recalls.

“I am delighted that I can now re-open my studio and am able to be fully operational again after the easing of the lockdown regulations. I have some really exciting 1909 Collection projects in the pipeline, which I am really looking forward to.”
