SPREADING LIGHT & HOPE
A dedicated team of carers whose work brings light and hope to families across the Ribble Valley have received £15,000 from the borough council. Ribble Valley Crossroads Care has been supporting carers and the people they care for in their own homes for 30 years. They carry out a variety of tasks, from day-to-day personal care, such as showering and dressing, to supporting bereaved families. Crossroads Care manager Jane Williamson said: “Our trusted carers are highly trained and chosen for their compassion, dignity and respect. The care they give comes from the heart and they are passionate about making a difference to people’s lives.”

REPTILE DAY
High Five, a small volunteer-run charity which offers social support for disabled children and their families, was recently awarded £550 from Longridge Council to help provide a series of activities for youngsters. The charity held three events – visiting Bowland Wild Boar Park, Tease Café in Longridge and they also held a Reptile Event at Dale Hey Touring Park. Each event was designed around the children, their siblings and families. The charity also provides monthly ‘meet and play’ sessions, family days out, awareness events and respite opportunities for parents.
