This festive season why not celebrate in style at award-winning Yu that takes Chinese cuisine to the next level, putting a very modern twist on fine dining, writes Simon Smith
The team at Yu Copster Green are all set to make this coming Christmas a really special one! Chef Victor Yu has been busy formulating fabulous festive menus for December and a superb New Year’s Eve offering too.
The wonderfully appointed restaurant and bar provide a marvellous, contemporary setting for guests to relax over a selection of cocktails, beers and other aperitifs to start off your evening. Subtle music and knowledgeable staff enhance your dining experience – a perfect start to your festive party!
This is no ordinary restaurant as chef Victor prides himself on putting a thoroughly modern twist on Chinese cuisine. Victor has vast experience working with many talented chefs including father Charlie, who has had a huge influence on him and who he succeeded as head chef.
This influence, along with his widespread travels in Asia, make him superbly qualified to produce Yu’s exquisite food. The emphasis on fresh ingredients, taking traditional dishes to a new level, along with some new innovative dishes make the food offering second to none. Although Charlie didn’t give up the wok easily – he can still be found helping Victor in the kitchens, offering his expert advice!
To accompany the food is a great value, high quality wine list to add to a brilliant dining experience. Eating banquet style is my favourite style of dining as it is so sociable – it’s a great way to relax. The choice is yours in this chic and refined restaurant as there is a fabulous fixed price party menu or choose from the amazing full a la carte menu, you really can’t go wrong.
The Yu menu has a wonderful selection of dishes, some of my favourites include the delicious dim sum, chicken in bamboo, fillet steak in black bean sauce, peppered scallops and the blackened miso cod are all tremendous!
The menu is extensive so there really is something for everyone.
This Christmas Yu will be open on Boxing Day offering a great opportunity for families to ditch the cold turkey and enjoy something completely different.
And, for those of you who really fancy a taste of Yu but want to stay at home, there’s also Yu Express – a fabulous take-out service that offers some of Yu’s most popular dishes.
There is a superb on-line menu which the team at Yu freshly cook and package up in smartly branded boxes that keep the food equally hot and delicious!
Brilliantly simple, yet produced to the same exacting standards as the restaurant, there are vegan and vegetarian dishes, alongside many of the traditional Yu favourites available to enjoy at home.
