COOKERY DEMO SUCCESS

Now an annual event, this year saw another fantastic turn out as guests enjoyed celebratory drinks and food before a three course Gaggenau cooking demonstration at Stuart Frazer’s Preston showroom.

The evening started with an array of drinks and canapes as guests perused the showroom and saw some of the fantastic new displays for the first time. Home-made pizzas made in the Gaggenau ovens were also served as guests watched them being hand-made by the Gaggenau staff and cooked to order. Many commented that the pizzas were some of the best they’d eaten and far better than restaurant ones!

It was then upstairs for a cooking demonstration where guests were wowed with a menu devised by chef Sharon Dodson, who cooked puff pastry squares with chorizo and gruyere, as well as pesto, cherry tomato and goats cheese.

She also made smoked salmon and horseradish cream blinis, a thyme and maple gammon joint with glazed red onions, steamed festive cous cous, Christmas coleslaw and mini rosemary and garlic roast potatoes, a roast salmon side with clementine and pomegranate crumb and a choice of desserts including a pear and chocolate frangipane tart with brandy cream, chocolate fondant muffins and a delicious soft meringue roulade with compote of spiced figs and plums. Using all the amazing features on the appliances, Sharon demonstrated the best way to cook each dish as well as giving tips and guidance.

Throughout the night guests purchased raffle tickets to win a Fortnum and Mason hamper and all funds raised were donated to the NSPCC which was guest Micheala Fogerty’s chosen charity. Micheala and her husband Carl, World Superbike champion and I’m a Celebrity winner, recently embarked on a trek in Patagonia to raise money for the charity. This extreme challenge saw them camping in adverse weather conditions, crossing glaciers and trekking 20 kilometres a day for six days. Despite completing that challenge, they are continuing to fundraise for the NSPCC with Carl recently competing on the TV show Catchphrase for the charity.

Michaela, who has just had a new Stuart Frazer kitchen installed, was delighted that the kitchen company had chosen to support the NSPCC and really enjoyed the night: “I was really touched that Stuart Frazer chose to support the NSPCC. The evening has been brilliant – the cooking demonstration was incredible and everyone was so generous when purchasing raffle tickets. Carl and I are continuing our fundraising and our Just Giving page is still open www.justgiving.com/fundraising/thefundraisingfogertys.”

Showroom manager Sarah Newton was delighted with how the night went, saying: “Every year we feel the pressure to put on a party as good as the year before and we always manage it. This year was great fun – the pizzas went down really well and the cooking demonstration was fantastic. It was great so many people got to see the showroom in all its glory. We’ve some stunning new displays and the feedback and reaction when people saw them was incredible.”

Now in its 44th year, Stuart Frazer is still market leader in the luxury kitchen market and has seen further renovation and new displays at its Manchester and Ribble Valley showrooms. The gallery section of their website showcases some of their recent customer kitchen installations which now span throughout the UK and abroad.

Stuart Frazer’s Preston showroom is open Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm, Saturday 9am-5pm. Feel free to call in and meet showroom manager Sarah Newton and see the fantastic range of displays.
