EARLY OPPORTUNITIES

With a vibrant atmosphere and student focused ethos, Westholme School prides itself on providing a diverse and challenging curriculum within a nurturing environment which prepares pupils for life

In today’s rapidly changing and demanding world it is important that children, from an early age, have a breadth of opportunity to develop their abilities and potential while enjoying the benefit of a caring, structured and secure environment. We know that such a blend of opportunity and challenge exists at Westholme.

From the age of two years, boys and girls are welcomed into our Nursery and this is where we lay the foundation stones for a lifelong love of learning. Children are cherished, cared for and stimulated by our experienced staff. The Nursery at Westholme is a supportive, stable and caring environment where the focus is on the child. As they make the transition from Nursery to Pre School the year before Reception, they are well prepared for the next stage of their Westholme journey.

Care is taken to ensure that consistency, routine and familiarity are maintained. Our Pre-School children quickly grow into confident, independent young girls and boys as they progress through Reception into Years 1 and 2.

The Infant years for children are vital in terms of developing both attitude and abilities. Expectations are high, care is continuous and learning is fun. When girls and boys embark upon the next stage of their Westholme journey, they already have an array of talents and are competent communicators. Perhaps most importantly though, they are happy and self-assured individuals. As a school, we strive to be the best we can and this is reflected in the high quality education we offer and our constant desire to improve.

In essence, the Infant years at Westholme enable the children to develop a love for learning and enjoy a rich tapestry of educational experiences, helping them build a firm foundation for their future.

NEW FOR 2019
At Westholme, we recognise that family life is busy and therefore aim to provide flexibility for busy, working parents. Wrap-around care is available for 50 weeks of the year, from 7.30am until 6pm. Holiday activities are also offered to ensure that every family has a solution to its own needs.

Due to recent demand we are excited to announce the launch of an exclusive ‘Baby Bus’ service which will be available at various stops throughout the Ribble Valley from September 2019. This door-to-door service will be staffed by Westholme School colleagues and will be fitted with the most up to date car seats and safety features to ensure that your child leaves home and arrives at school safely. This new service allows flexibility for parents who may work or are not able to get their child to and from school easily. The Baby Bus will be eligible for use by children between the ages of two and five years old and will run at a subsidised cost.

To find out more and to register your interest for this service, please contact the Registrar at Westholme on 01254 506088
