EAT, WORK & PLAY…

Perfect for families, business meetings and private celebrations, the new-look Huntley’s Farmhouse Kitchen is a thriving destination

When dynamic duo Carol Sleet and Paul Wilkinson were looking to quit their jobs and set up in business together, the stars aligned to create an opportunity that was perfect!

After considering a mobile coffee business, the pair heard that the restaurant at Huntley’s Country Stores was up for sale – and just four weeks later the deal was sealed.

Today Huntley’s Farmhouse Kitchen has been transformed after Carol and Paul, and their respective families, worked long days (and nights) over just two weeks to create a restaurant that is a destination in which to eat, work and play.

A new bar takes centre stage on the ground floor that overlooks an outdoor seating and activity area and a new staircase takes visitors to the spacious first floor.

Perfect for private functions and events, Huntley’s Farmhouse Kitchen is also a great space to visit for a famous Huntley’s breakfast or lunch and because of its ideal location, just off the A59, it has become the venue of choice for many business people and networking events.

Serving traditional classic British food, cooked by the kitchen team led by head chef David Simmonds, the emphasis is on quality and keeping it local with lots of Lancashire produce.

“We use ingredients that are great quality to create delicious, classic food – and of course the farmhouse breakfast won’t change as we know just how popular it is!” explains Carol.

On the breakfast menu diners can expect to find the classic ‘full English’ as well as a vegetarian option, smoked salmon scrambled eggs on a toasted Huntley’s bloomer or a Huntley’s bakery barm with the option of a variety of fillings – the breakfast choices are as varied as they are delicious!

The main menu at Huntley’s Farmhouse Kitchen features traditional Lancashire light bites such as Lancashire cheese rarebit and Huntley’s sliders – while full-on main courses include a trio of Huntley’s sausages and herb mash, a ‘build your own burger’ option as well as the obligatory Huntley’s fish and chips – which is just as famous as the breakfast!

Salads, side orders and desserts are just as tempting while the children’s menu replicates the grown-ups with traditional mini-dishes including a classic roast!

With a maze and play area, and plans in the pipeline to expand the ice-cream parlour, Huntley’s Farmhouse Kitchen really is the place to be for an after-school excursion or during the school holidays!

And, for mum and dad what could be better than afternoon tea at Huntleys! Served between 2pm and 4pm, this is a substantial event which features mini fish and chips, pastries and cakes.

And, when Huntley’s Farmhouse Kitchen closes at the end of the day, the evening sees the restaurant and bar transformed for private events and special occasions.
