Choosing a nursery for the first time can be daunting and making the right choice is important for you and your child. Netstar 9 is an award-winning company that delivers excellent pre-school education and childcare across three fantastic nurseries in Lancashire.
Busy Bears in Preston, Summerfield, Lytham St Annes and School House, Blackburn provide expert childcare services for youngsters aged three months to five years by a team of 60, talented and dedicated employees.
Gillian Robinson, area manager across the three sites explains: “Childcare provided by Netstar 9 is full and varied. We provide our children with a first-class education that is tailored to their individual needs. Whilst our nurseries promote active outdoor learning opportunities of all kinds where everyone can succeed.”
The ethos of the Netstar 9 nurseries is to create a unique place where your child will be nurtured to develop and grow, having fun in a safe environment with their friends. Gillian added: “It’s key that the children have unforgettable experiences. They are encouraged to be children – hiding and building dens, digging and going on insect hunts all in fantastic environments and surroundings.”
All three settings have recently refreshed their outdoor environments. This to reflect the adoption and extension of Forest School learning themes, taking hands on learning from the classroom to the outdoors and beyond – local forests, parklands and beaches. Throughout the year children learn from and enjoy nature to the full, working and playing in invigorating and natural settings. The focus on learning is directed at being hands on and experiential. Children are supported and encouraged to follow their own learning through individual opportunities whilst learning important values of respect and responsibility.
Gillian added: “This has been well received by our families especially at Summerfield where we have now expanded the Forest School Themes and have plans to establish a Summerfield Beach School. We have been looking closely at what our local communities could provide as an additional learning resource for our children and we are so lucky to have parkland, woodland and beaches in close proximity to our nursery. These sites enable us to provide our children with rich, exciting and wholly natural learning experiences from the local areas we operate in.”
Netstar 9 is dedicated to these developments and providing the very best opportunities it can for its children. This is done through a team of highly trained, qualified childcare staff who have expert knowledge and a deep understanding on how to deliver the early year’s framework. Specialist training has and is being delivered which enables the team to deliver critical support to the children to enable them to learn in the natural environments they are now enjoying.
Gillian concluded: “The aim of Netstar 9 has always been to provide high quality childcare that will help your child thrive emotionally, physically and academically. Studies have shown there is an increase in the number of children spending a prominent amount of time indoors leading to a negative impact on their health and development with research showing many benefits to children being outdoors. Outdoor learning at our nurseries is vital and based on children being able to investigate, test and explore the natural world around them. We want our children to be able to access the great outdoors all year round whether it is in the nursery grounds or within our local community – the woods, parks, forests or beaches.”
30 Hours Free Childcare
Starting this September, the government is providing 30 hours a week of free childcare for all three and four-year-old children of working families. This is an increase of 15 hours a week per child. To embrace this change within the communities Netstar 9 serve, it is offering a more flexible service by adapting its hours of opening to meet the needs of working parents.
Summerfield Day Nursery Update
Netstar 9 is delighted to introduce its new manager Kim Morton. Kim is a qualified primary school teacher with Early Years Practitioner Status and a Master’s in education. She has vast experience and is well qualified to lead the practice in order to continue to drive quality within the setting.
