EXCITING THIRD PHASE BEGINS
Architects Stanton Andrews explain their involvement in the iconic Holmes Mill development
The Bowland Food Hall has recently opened at the Holmes Mill development in the heart of Clitheroe. The hall provides an interesting and innovative shopping experience, offering locally sourced and quality foods, drinks and other produce. The café area also allows you to stop for a ‘coffee and cake’ whilst enjoying the interesting setting.
The food hall is the second phase of an exciting multi-million pound development and renovation project of this historic mill complex. The first phase of the renovation project, opened in 2016, has proved extremely successful with bar and tap (the bar is reputed to be the longest in Britain), restaurant, ice cream parlour, café area and function facilities. This phase also houses the expanding Bowland Brewery, with the brewing facilities displayed from the bar area by a large internal glazed screen.
Construction works have now commenced on the third phase. The completed scheme will include a hotel, restaurant, function rooms, offices, plus a leisure complex with pool, spa and fitness facilities.
Stanton Andrews Architects have been working on this exciting project with Emporia Leisure – the owners of Bowland Brewery and James’ Places. Whilst the works are innovative they have also been respectful of the historic fabric of the building and setting. The rare cross-compound horizontal engine has been integrated and displayed as a core part of the brewery experience.
If you have a project, whether it is a listed mill, brewery, leisure centre, offices or an extension to an existing property or a new house and want a good local architect then why not give Stanton Andrews Architects a call.
