The family owned and run EQ Woman has been a fixture in the centre of Clitheroe for several years. Since outgrowing their King Street location and moving to a bright and airy boutique on Moor Lane two years ago, the business has gone from strength to strength, stocking many exclusive brands that you won’t find anywhere else in the Ribble Valley.

Working with brands such as Masai, Part Two, Fransa, Capri, One Life and Pranella the EQ team work hard at keeping the shop and its online store as fresh and current as possible, offering the latest trends in beautifully flattering styles in sizes eight to 18. The shop also offers a fantastic range of shoes, jewellery, bags and scarves to complement any outfit.

Customer care is of the utmost importance, and the team were recently recognised for excellence in customer service in a prestigious Lancashire awards shortlist.

Owner Zilpah Oulson-Jenkins tells me: “We love our customers and we strive to offer the best service possible. We pride ourselves on our personal service and we are pleased to have so many returning customers, some who travel for miles to visit the shop, as they know they will always receive a warm welcome and helpful advice.”

It’s this ethos and attention to detail that sets the boutique apart, and now the team behind EQ Woman are expanding the business to offer exclusive treatment rooms, known as The Melo Rooms, above their Moor Lane premises, where therapists will offer the same quality and service that the boutique has built its reputation upon.

There are currently four self-employed therapists working from the luxurious rooms, from an Elemis trained facialist to an aesthetics practitioner, Russian lash specialist and several trained counsellors. There is space for more therapists and rooms are available to hire by the hour, day, month or on a long-term basis.

Zilpah tells me: “We have chosen the therapists we work with carefully to ensure they embody our values of great customer service and quality, and we are really pleased with the team that we now have. We will be expanding our offering going forwards and there is space in the rooms for the right people who may be looking to grow their own business.

“We are really excited for the future of both the boutique and The Melo Rooms. Both businesses complement each other, and we already have many customers from the boutique who have become firm fans of the treatment rooms, and vice versa. We are looking forward to welcoming even more therapists in the next few months, and also taking the boutique from strength to strength with our exciting new spring and summer collections, whilst continuing to offer the high levels of customer service for which we are renowned.”
