Festive Charm

All Under One Roof

With Christmas just around the corner, Owd Barn at Bispham is a one-stop destination to get you in the festive spirit, writes Sarah Ulyatt. Photography: Roger Moore

Brimming with festive food in the café and farm shop, unique presents in the gift loft and beautiful Christmas decorations and displays (including a stunningly decorated 15ft Christmas tree), a visit to Owd Barn at Bispham is an absolute must.

Set in a 16th century barn, Owd Barn’s cosy surroundings are a perfect backdrop for this time of year and customers old and new are guaranteed to be tempted by all the treats in store.

A huge selection of unique Christmas decorations is on offer, including traditional red and gold designs, Scandinavian inspired baubles and décor, as well as a copper section with a natural and nature theme including pinecones and winter leaves.

Also, in the heart of the decorations is the stunning Christmas tree that reaches to the top of the barn. Christmas trees and wreaths will be available to purchase from the first week in December.

Recognised stockist to Owd Barn is Cheshire based company, Tweedmill, who make cosy winter throws in classical tweeds combined with modern fabrics. Definitely worth a look for this time of year.

The Owd Barn farm shop is full of festive treats, chutneys and homegrown goods including cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli from the family’s own 200-acre farm. Popular this time of year is Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding, Christmas cakes and chocolates, you’ll be spoilt for choice in the well-stocked shop. Orders are also now being taken for Christmas vegetable boxes and turkeys.

After a bit of shopping, why not relax and treat yourself to some winter warmer food, cakes and drinks by the log burner in Owd Barn’s tearoom, recently awarded ‘highly commended’ in the Lancashire Food and Drink Awards 2019.

With all this festive charm under one roof, add Owd Barn to your list to visit this December.
