Find Confidence With The Experts

Leah Bolton, treatment co-ordinator at Clavell-Bate & Nephew in Whalley, speaks to Sarah Varley about how this family-run dental practice ensures the best experience possible for patients

From the beautifully light and modern reception and waiting room, complete with a stunning marine fish-tank boasting most of the cast of Finding Nemo, you can tell immediately that this is a dental practice with a difference. Much more than that, Clavell-Bate is a contemporary and innovative dental practice which offers quality, state-of-the-art dentistry. This is a passionate team of professionals who are committed to providing outstanding patient care.

Simon Clavell-Bate is one of the full-time dentists at the practice, he has been placing implants for many years with a huge success rate for this life-changing treatment and takes referrals from across Lancashire. Treatment co-ordinator Leah Bolton is also on hand right the way through treatment and explains the difference her role makes: “There is a huge focus on customer care at Clavell-Bate, and my job is to take clients through the whole patient journey.”

“As well as greeting patients and getting their medical history, I sit in on initial consultations so that I am able to plan in any appointments they need and answer any questions they might have about their treatment. This is very important as there can be a lot to take in and often questions we forget to ask at the time. I’m available as a reassuring point of contact to phone and email to take away any concerns. We don’t want people worrying at all.”

“People come to us with no confidence – they don’t feel comfortable smiling on photos or going out for meals. We understand how important the treatments are for people in giving them back their confidence, but we also know that it can be daunting, so we team expert treatment with this exceptional level of customer care. We’re also dental phobia accredited, which means we have a proven track record of treating and overcoming dental phobias.”

“My role is to make the whole patient journey as simple and stress-free as possible, by planning and streamlining appointments and doing everything I can to put each client at ease. We offer extended evening opening hours for convenience and we have a CT scanner on site so we can offer CT guided implant surgery right here. Each patient is important to us and we know that every patient is unique, so we tailor treatments to meet your needs.”

“A treatment co-ordinator dedicated to customer care is not something many practices have. Our patient care and focus are what really makes us stand out and we’re very proud of this. Our existing patients may have noticed our recent practice refurbishment and we would like to say a big thank you to The Home Improvement Studio, Shaws Building Services, Thompson Decor, Forest UK Air Conditioning, Vista Print, Aqualease, EPS Signs, Daniel Tiplady Plumbing and ML Electrical for their involvement in our project.”
