Well-chosen flooring creates a welcoming home. Contemporary colours and textures complement interior design ideas and easy-to-clean products, which keep their looks, mean the living is easy.
Luxury vinyl tiles are often first choice for homeowners who have these criteria in mind, as Michelle Morton, manager of The Flooring Centre NW explains.

“For example, a customer recently extended his house to create an open-plan living area leading from the kitchen. He thought vinyl tiles would be versatile enough to maintain the open-plan feel, while distinguishing between the different rooms,” she says.

Style was important, as was durability and comfort. “Luxury vinyl tiles are warmer underfoot than ceramics, and are also water-resistant and scratch-resistant,” says Michelle.

“He opted for the Amtico range. It offers vast colour choice, from the traditional oaks, to greys, sun-bleached tones, limed woods, and rustic tones which are very on trend as well,” she says. “This was essential because the flooring had to tie in with the black granite worktops and ivory cupboards in the original kitchen. It also had to complement a feature open fire, supplied by Firecraft in Chorley.”

The warm tones of Amtico’s Cornish Oak complemented the neutral colour scheme. Plank-effect vinyl tiles were chosen because they suit different laying options: the kitchen area was laid in herringbone effect, which flows into a plank pattern in the living area.

“Modern, bright, and airy was the desired effect for the whole extension and the flooring has helped achieve this”, says Michelle.

The Flooring Centre NW, based in Bamber Bridge, has a dedicated Amtico showroom. It displays all four Amtico ranges (Spacia, Form, Signature and Deco) which are available in an extensive selection of tile and wood effects, and sizes. All products carry a minimum 25-year warranty.

Advice is at hand to deal with the vast choice, and options for different laying patterns. “Customers can borrow tile samples,” says Michelle, “and upload their photos into the showroom’s Amtico Room Visualiser to mock up how their home would look.”

Further reassurance is that The Flooring Centre NW holds Amtico One Exclusive Retail Partner status. Only 30 independent retailers in the UK have this accolade, which recognises expert service.

“In addition, we have a trusted team of regular fitters,” says Michelle, “and the volume we sell means that we can pass on competitive prices to customers. We can also offer interest-free over three years.”

Apart from Amtico, The Flooring Centre NW offers Karndean, Ted Todd engineered wood, and manmade and wool carpets. Roll stock is also available from its neighbouring warehouse.

“Customers are welcome to call in to discuss their flooring needs,” says Michelle. “We are a friendly family business: happy to offer expert advice — and a coffee.”
