ECO EATERY
Clitheroe’s Gazegill Organic Farm is set to open the UK’s first entirely sustainable, carbon neutral ‘eco eatery’. It is understood that the new 300 sq m site will be positioned within the farm estate at Rimington and will be an ‘off the grid’, green oaked framed and glass building, which will be powered by wind and solar. Gazegill Organic Farm eco-eatery will serve organic food, which has been farmed on its own land and is on schedule to launch around May or June 2019.

HUMBLE COFFEE BREAK
An enthusiastic advocate of ESSE’s stoves and range cookers, TV personality Kate Hunble chatted with customers in ESSE’s Factory Cafe and signed copies of her new book Thinking on my Feet. Kate uses ESSE cookers for heating her home and for cookery demonstrations at ‘Humble by Nature’, her rural retreat in South Wales, and she has just ordered one of ESSE’s compact new electric range cookers – the 550 EL – for The Hayloft, a newly converted rental apartment at the farmhouse.

PROUD MACLEODS
The Coniston Hotel in Skipton with its flagship restaurant, Macleod’s, has been awarded two AA Rosettes. A glass of champagne was given to each diner as a thank you during October for dining at Macleod’s. Two AA Rosettes are described as: “Excellent restaurants that aim for and achieve higher standards and better consistency. A greater precision is apparent in the cooking, and there will be obvious attention to the selection of quality ingredients.”
