With a 20 kilo, 30 kilo and now a 60 kilo coffee roaster at its Old Chapel Roastery in Blackburn, Exchange Coffee Company has extended its capacity to supply coffee houses, restaurants, universities and businesses across the region with the freshest premium coffee.

Sourcing the best raw coffee beans from all over the world, Exchange Coffee Company’s additional new roasters enable them to continue to roast to order so coffee is delivered at its very best, as General Manager Richard Isherwood explains: “Coffee reaches its peak within four to seven days. Now that we have extra roasting capacity we can be even more reactive.”

Supplying wholesale coffee to customers throughout Lancashire, Yorkshire, South Cumbria, North Cheshire and beyond, the company also runs its own barista training school, distributes top-of-the-range coffee machines as well as running its own coffee houses.

The barista training school, which adjoins the warehouse in the old Sunday school, is where wholesale customers get in-house training in how to make the best cup of coffee.

“You can have the best coffee beans in the world but if a person doesn’t know what they are doing then you might not get the best cup of coffee. That’s where we come in. Our wholesale customers can be taught by us and spend uninterrupted time in the training school.”

“They can then return to their place of work and cascade the information down to other staff.”

You can watch your coffee being roasted in the company’s own coffee houses in Clitheroe, Skipton and Blackburn on 10 kilo coffee roasters while it also has two coffee bars on Blackburn and Todmorden markets.

“We carefully source the best, single estate coffee beans, we also roast them so we are able to supply the freshest coffee. We also have our own coffee houses so we know what we are doing on every level. It gives us a unique insight so we can advise our customers,” adds Richard.

Exchange Coffee Company also has a close relationship with La Cimbali, who have been manufacturing Espresso machines for more than a century. Wholesale customers can buy, rent or lease equipment, having learnt how to use, clean and maintain it in the barista school. Within their team they have fully trained espresso machine maintenance engineers.

As well as the coffee they can supply tea, hot chocolate, sugars, cups, lids, syrups and any other barista based supplies.

Whatever your taste, the Exchange Coffee Company produces award winning coffee and as a business you can even have your own unique blend!
