Growing The Team

Bannister Hall Landscaping Supplies and Plant Nurseries in Higher Walton welcomes two new key members to the horticultural team – Neil Dudley and Matthew Carr

Neil Dudley joins Bannister Hall Landscaping Supplies and Plant Nurseries as their multi-site Nursery Production Manager, bringing over 25 years of horticultural growing experience and a wealth of logistical knowledge to support the existing horticulturalist team across Bannister Hall’s three North West-based nursery sites. Neil has long cultivated an impressive industry reputation for being one of the region’s leading expert professional growers, having been responsible for managing over 70 staff across 12 nursery sites in peak seasonal periods. In his former role, Neil oversaw the contract growing of over five million bedding plants, alpines, and bulbs, to meet the exacting quality control requirements and strict deadlines expected by the UK’s major supermarket and garden centre chains.

Neil says: “It is an understatement to say that I am passionate about plants. I have had a lifelong fascination with growing plants to the highest possible quality. Joining Bannister Hall Nurseries was a great opportunity to once again be able to grow, source and supply beautiful trees, hedges, shrubs, topiary, perennials and exotic specimens to a variety of clients including local authorities, property developers, professional landscapers and the general public.” Indeed, over the years, Neil has managed a plethora of impressive planting schemes across the UK, even transporting the largest ever oak tree across England to Liverpool, at the time, the European Capital of Culture in 2008.

Commenting on Neil’s appointment, CEO of Bannister Hall Landscaping Supplies and Nurseries, Jon Carlyle-Hollywood says: “We headhunted Neil for his vast wealth of horticultural knowledge, indisputable talent and enthusiastic passion for growing and sourcing the highest quality plants and trees. We are thrilled he has accepted our offer to join the Bannister Hall horticultural team, whereby his expertise and experience will bolster our commitment to supplying our customers with high quality plants at the most competitive prices.”

Bannister Hall Landscaping Supplies and Plant Nurseries also welcomes Matthew Carr in the dual role of plant sales and landscaping materials sales based at Bannister Hall’s landscaping store and nursery at Potter Lane, Higher Walton. In his former role of over six years, Matthew specialised in the purchasing and retailing of garden stoneware, ornaments and water features.

Matthew says: “Whilst plants have always been a keen interest of mine, over the years I have developed a passion for those items that dress, complement and finish every beautiful garden design and landscaping project. In my new role at Bannister Hall, I will be bringing in a whole new range of beautiful pots, stoneware and water features to complement Bannister Hall’s latest stunning collections of porcelain and natural stone paving.”

Commenting on Matthew’s appointment, Rachel Innes, Commercial Development Head adds: “Matthew undoubtably has a great eye for product quality and creative flair. We were so impressed with his product knowledge, creative displays and his past sales achievements, that we felt he would be the perfect addition to our team, as we continue to expand our sites and product ranges for both trade and retail consumers.”
