HOG ROAST AND TEST DRIVES!
Walton Summit Truck Centre celebrated their fantastic refurbishment alongside the IVECO Roadshow in an open day packed with fun and new vehicles to test drive, writes Susan Osborne
Walton Summit Truck Centre stands out proudly with its fabulous all-new silver-coloured cladding and impressive giant-sized marine blue signage. It’s not just smart on the outside either. A new refurbishment has transformed the reception area, with a total upgrade of facilities and a new layout.
There is a lounge area with free beverages and free wifi, where customers can wait in comfort whilst browsing magazines or watching TV. The open plan area, which extends into the showroom has new flooring throughout as well as new furniture, fixtures and fittings. No expense has been spared to upgrade the facility and boost the brand of this customer-focused business.
It’s a pleasure to walk around the new showroom, complete with that ‘nothing quite like it’ new vehicle smell, and browse the range of vehicles on display.
Salesmen with superior product knowledge are always on hand to point out the right vehicle for the job, to answer questions about payloads, fuel economy and dimensions, to discuss finance details involving purchase options and leasing packages.
There is an excellent range of commercial vehicles on display, including the full range of Fiat Professional vehicles including the fantastic Fullback pick-up and the versatile IVECO range comprising of the Daily 3.5 – 7.2 tonnes, Euro Cargo medium truck 7.5 – 18 tonnes, the Stralis tractor unit and the eight-wheel Trakker.
Lots of customers, businessmen and sole-traders visited the recent open day to enjoy the hospitality, check out the new facilities and learn about IVECO’s new range of vehicles including the new eco-friendly gas-powered vans and trucks.
There was lots of chatting, and snacking, as well as fact finding, with complimentary drinks flowing and a delicious hog roast with side buffet to fill the lunchtime session. Some friendly banter and rivalry was sparked by the drive simulator competitions, and raffles, games and goody bags added to the party atmosphere.
Outside, thankfully, in fine sunny weather, the stars of the roadshow, the IVECO Daily Hi-Matic and the IVECO Stralis NP, (Natural Power) were ready and waiting to be tried out by the eager and the curious.
The Daily Hi-Matic is the first commercial vehicle of its kind to have this engine and gearbox. The same eight-speed automatic gear box can be found in BMWs and Range Rovers. It’s an absolute pleasure to drive. Test drivers at the roadshow event were really impressed with its performance.
The new gearbox with the ergonomic multifunctional shift lever, leaves the driver fully focused on traffic and driving conditions. A great solution for enhanced safety while driving comfortably with outstanding fuel economy thanks to a choice of eco or power modes. It’s an excellent van in stop start conditions, ideal for deliveries. Designed with durability in mind, new solutions protect engine and transmission to ensure less maintenance.
There are offers running on the Hi-Matic throughout October.
The IVECO Daily is now available with electric and gas engine options.
Natural gas is the most eco-friendly fuel for an internal combustion engine, capable of significant environmental advantages as it improves local air quality, significantly reduces CO2 emissions (compared to diesel equivalents) and can dramatically reduce noise pollution in city centres and during night deliveries.
The gas driven IVECO Stralis NP is the future of trucking, it is the first gas truck designed for long haulage. It can travel from John o’ Groats to Lands End without refuelling.
Test drivers at the roadshow were really pleased with the vehicle’s performance and very impressed with quoted emission figures. It is much more environmentally friendly than its diesel counterpart but without much compromise on performance and can travel an impressive 1500K on one fill. A definite future investment!
