A state-of-the-art, friendly and welcoming clinic, The Doctor & Company is entering an exciting new era taking a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, writes Katie Hammond
The term ‘professional aesthetics clinic’ conjures up an image of a sterile and somewhat overwhelming environment. This is something Dr Natalie, lead clinician and founder of The Doctor & Company, is acutely aware of and was keen to dispel when she started her journey to creating her brand and clinics in Whalley, Lymm and Manchester.
With an earlier career as a medical doctor, and with more than 10 years as an aesthetics physician, she explains: “We want our clients to just look like the best possible, polished version of themselves – imagine, you on a good day with really healthy, glowing skin. Treatments should be undetectable to others, but make you look amazing and that’s what my team and I specialise in.”
Recognised as a leader in the aesthetics industry, Dr Natalie is also keen to respond to her clients’ overall needs, bringing the newest additions to the clinic’s services.
“Clients are telling us they feel there is a real lack of information around women’s health and with the current demands placed upon the NHS, it has been difficult for them to address concerns around general health issues.
“With this in mind, we are introducing a specialist to join the team who can complement the services we already offer, addressing clients’ holistic health issues, as well as skin health.”
DR JON ASH
The Doctor & Company is delighted to welcome Dr Jon Ash to the team – an experienced Consultant Gynaecologist and women’s health specialist.
Jon’s collaboration with The Doctor & Company will provide clients with the opportunity to explore gynaecological concerns.
Dr Natalie adds: “Jon firmly believes that advice on women’s health must balance individual needs and wishes with safe recommendations grounded in evidence and proven efficacy.”
After qualifying at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London, in 2002, Jon completed his specialist training in gynaecology before starting as a consultant at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust in 2013.
A member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the British Menopause Society, the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy and the British Society of Urogynaecology, he is a well-respected expert in his field.
With access to clinical facilities such as blood tests and ultrasound scans, Jon will be offering consultations at The Doctor & Company’s clinic in Whalley for a variety of women’s health issues, including early, pre, peri and post menopause changes, Hormone Replacement Therapy, safe testosterone supplementation and the management of pelvic pain. He will also consult on menstrual irregularities, including heavy and irregular periods, and pelvic floor dysfunction including bladder weakness and difficulty or discomfort with intercourse – all alongside general gynaecological wellbeing checks for peace of mind.
ULTRASOUND SCAN
Dr Natalie and her experienced team are always looking to add to their impressive portfolio of services to complement their more rounded approach in response to what their clients are asking for: “We are acutely aware that our clients’ needs are changing and are keen to provide the tools they need to feel like they are looking after all aspects of their health. We are now offering ultrasound scans and specialise in delivering high quality imaging utilising the latest technology via our team of specialised sonographers.
“With more than 10 years’ experience within both the NHS and private sector, we are all fully registered and regulated for practice in the UK. Our services can be performed either with or without a medical referral – we will provide a full report on the day of the scan and where required, direct images to the relevant healthcare professional. Services include abdominal, gynaecological, pregnancy and early viability scans, along with area-specific musculoskeletal scans.”
FILTER-FREE SKIN
With further advances in dermatological technology, The Doctor & Company have invested heavily in a state-of-the-art laser machine, the only one based in the North West, to be able to offer what they term ‘Filter-Free Skin’.
MOXI – In recent years, significant strides have been made in the realm of skin rejuvenation. One of the most notable innovations is Sciton MOXI, a non-ablative laser treatment designed to improve skin texture, tone and overall appearance.
The state-of-the-art fractional laser treatment targets sun damage, pigmentation, fine lines, and uneven skin tone. Unlike traditional ablative lasers which remove the outer layer of skin, MOXI is classified as a non-ablative, which means it works by creating microscopic zones of thermal injury in the deeper layers of the skin while leaving the surface intact, promoting natural healing stimulating collagen production and suitable for every skin type.
Dr Natalie continues: “It’s even suitable for tanned skin as it’s water targeted and the minimum recovery period means that clients may experience mild redness and swelling for a short time, but can resume their regular activities within a day or two. With optimal treatment, clients can expect to see improvements which last for months, with collagen remodelling continuing long after the treatment.”
BroadBand Light (BBL) – BBL is a powerful and advanced light-based therapy system (a form of IPL, but much stronger) which utilises a broad spectrum of wavelengths to treat various skin conditions, including pigmentation, vascular lesions, acne and signs of ageing. Unlike traditional laser treatments which use a single wavelength, BBL can emit multiple wavelengths simultaneously, allowing for the comprehensive treatment of different skin concerns in one session.
