In Good Company

Interesting beers, quality wines, good food and conversation have made The Tap and Vine part of the Penwortham community

When Debbie Colles and husband Jason were designing The Tap and Vine, they thought about their favourite venues.

“We wanted somewhere comfortable and cosy, with great drinks and conversation,” says Debbie. “An Irish pub vibe with the style of some New York bars.”

The result is a welcoming micro pub with a casual, but chic, interior. Famed for its choice of quality real ales, from both small brewers, such as Chain House, to the larger Bowland Brewery, it also features hard-to-finds such as Icelandic white beer Einstok, and vegan-friendly brands.

Vines are represented by a sophisticated wine list, which includes crisp Sauvignon Blancs and rich reds. Tap and Vine makes a point of supporting local suppliers, buying wines from DVino’s of Preston.

Accompanying these drinks is Debbie’s menu of snacks and generous hot and cold sharing platters. Local producers are well represented with hot pies from Woods Farm Shop and artisan bakes by John’s Bread.

“Our sharing experience includes meats and cheeses from across Lancashire and perfect pork pies accompanied by tasty chutneys,” says Debbie.

“We are excited to be celebrating two years of success, made possible by our hard-working team and the support of our fabulous customers. We know many clientele by name, just how pubs used to be,” she concludes.
