In Safe Hands
Enjoy quality care and low costs at RejuvaMed’s varicose vein treatment centre in Clitheroe, where patients can receive pioneering VenaSeal™ treatment at an incredible price, writes Sarah de Waard
RejuvaMed has built a nationwide reputation for quality care and exceptional results. Heading up the team is medical director and owner Dr Grant McKeating, a consultant anaesthetist with over 25 years’ experience, and medical cosmetics specialist.
With an established, award-winning aesthetics clinic in Chorley, the team now also has premises in Clitheroe which incorporates its successful varicose vein treatment centre, the only dedicated facility of its type in Lancashire.
Led by consultant vascular surgeon Robert Salaman, the vein centre has established itself as a leading provider of varicose vein treatment in the North West, at prices way below Lancashire’s private hospitals.
Mr Salaman has worked both within the NHS and privately for over 29 years, and is clinical director of vascular surgery at The Royal Blackburn Hospital. He now consults solely at RejuvaMed and has carried out many successful procedures at the clinic, so patients can be sure they are in safe hands.
Dr McKeating tells me: “Funding for treatment for painful varicose veins has now been withdrawn by the NHS, meaning that patients have to pay for their procedure. We are therefore pleased to provide safe, relatively painless treatments with excellent results and minimal recovery time. Our appointments are available within three weeks, meaning you can get the treatment you need quickly. We don’t have the same overheads as private hospitals, and work more efficiently, so we can offer the same treatment for up to £2500 less. That’s a huge saving.”
“There is no need to undergo expensive and risky surgery under general anaesthesia if you wish to say goodbye to your varicose veins. We welcome patients with private medical insurance, and also offer interest free credit, with repayments over 10 months.”
As well as offering radiofrequency (RF) ablation treatment for varicose veins, the vein centre has recently introduced the innovative VenaSeal™ procedure, which uses a medical adhesive rather than a heat source to seal the diseased vein. A small cut is made into the skin under local anaesthetic. A catheter is then inserted, and small amounts of adhesive are injected along the vein under ultrasound guidance.
Once the procedure is complete, a plaster is applied over the small cut, and you are immediately able to be up and about.
The procedure is quicker and more comfortable than RF and laser ablation, both during and after treatment, as there are fewer injections required and there is less bruising. A huge benefit of VenaSeal™ over other treatments is that you are not required to wear compression stockings afterwards, meaning you can return to normal activities immediately.
In UK clinics and hospitals this treatment is typically offered at a price of £4000 – £5000. However, RejuvaMed has priced this treatment at only £2195 for one leg, and £2495 for both, and is the cheapest clinic for VenaSeal™ in the UK. This is less than local private hospitals charge for RF and laser ablation.
