ITALIAN ELEGANCE

Leonard Dews and FOPE jewellery have a long established relationship of supplying beautifully crafted jewellery

FOPE is the epitome of Italian elegance, with rose, white and yellow gold blending in harmony with sparkling diamonds and precious gems. The collection features necklaces, rings and bracelets, in various lengths and widths, with something for every woman, for every occasion. The collection really is someting to discover.

THE BRAND
Established in 1929, FOPE is an Italian goldsmith which has evolved into an international jewellery brand. The family’s third and fourth generation helped FOPE earn their permanent place in the international jewellery market, where it now stands out as a symbol of the elegance and quality of ‘Made in Italy’.

The headquarters and the production facilities are located in Vicenza, Italy, where every piece of jewellery is created in-house and then shipped to more than 50 countries in the world. Fulfilling the founder’s vision which the brand’s name mirrors, FOPE is in fact, an acronym and it translates into Factory of Jewellery Precious Export.

Inspired by its provenance and by the values that have always steered the company strategies, at Baselworld 2019 FOPE presented a huge restlying project which will involve a new logo, new colours, communication tools and all things connected to brand identity.

The new and upcoming elements will be revealed gradually throughout the year and will mark the 90th anniversary of the foundation, a fantastic achievement for a company that has always been owned by the same family and has grown dramatically thanks to its leading distinctive jewellery collections.

THE JEWELLERY
When the third generation joined the family firm, FOPE poured its vast wealth of expertise into making its own gold jewellery collections. In 1985 it created the Novecento mesh chain, a timeless classic which has become a true icon, thanks to its elegant gold weave varying in gauge and design. The brand’s signature style brought it success in Italy and, later, world-wide.

This signature jewellery represents a quintessentially Italian idea of style and has granted FOPE first national recognition in the early 80s and 90s and then worldwide success from the beginning of the new century.

The turning point arrived with Flex’it, an original system the company invented a few decades ago and ultimately patented in early 2000. The Flex’it lines feature flexible bracelets (and sometimes rings) solely crafted in 18 carat gold and rendered fully flexible thanks to tiny gold springs hidden between each link. This was a new ground-breaking idea of contemporary luxury, the first collection to feature Flex’it was Eka, which was introduced in 2007 and still is one of the brand’s bestsellers.

Since day one, Eka, which was followed by several more Flex’it designs including Solo, Prima, Love Nest and Vendome, has represented a true revolution in the way women wear jewellery, with the original roll-on mesh chain becoming a new must-have to keep on the wrist around the clock.

TODAY THE 90TH ANNIVERSARY
Today, 12 years later, FOPE marks its 90th anniversary by presenting a new version of this signature bestseller range consisting of a subtle yet fundamental re-design of the rondel.

The result is a beautifully balanced suite of jewels which has been named Eka Anniversario and is available in three gauges. Ideal for everyday use, Eka Anniversario is a true joy for those seeking Italian elegance and comfort, high quality and wearability.

There is more good news – if you love the design and you are into stacking your bracelets and layering your necklets, FOPE has further developed the Eka Tiny collection too. This is a recent success which combines exquisite technique and design to create an 18 carat gold chain that is easily recognisable and yet totally new.

Eka Tiny is a slim yet incredibly resilient Flex’it line and it represents the natural complement to all the Eka pieces. Enriched with different motifs, the existing range features plain gold rondels, diamond rondels and now adds flowery or round elements which make each piece particularly fresh and contemporary.

Like all FOPE jewellery, these bracelets are made in-house and they are also handmade!

Once the bespoke machines make the gold components and the gold springs, it is a craftsman that actually makes the mesh chain by crimpling the links one to the other mechanically.

Finally, the bracelet is closed by hand, so no soldering or welding is used.
The human interaction with these kinds of jewels is amazing – and the quality is the highest possible.

In Leonard Dews’ Blackpool showroom there is an extensive collection of FOPE jewellery – the team would be delighted to welcome you with a sparkling glass of champagne, a cold beer, or a coffee. They will take you through the collections, allowing you to see for yourself the beautiful craftsmanship of this stunning Italian jewellery brand.
