IT’S MARKET DAY!
Clitheroe Market is seeing a remarkable revival with new stalls as well as specialist artisan, craft and farmers’ events featuring all the delicious produce that the Ribble Valley has to offer
Situated in the heart of the town, with ample parking just a few yards away, Clitheroe Market is renowned as being a traditional outdoor shopping experience.
Behind the revival of the market is Head of Environmental Services Heather Coar, a farmer’s daughter, who understands the role that traditional markets play in our communities.
Heather explains: “The market is a passion of mine. I was brought up knowing where my food came from and I think it is vital that the next generation understands this and appreciates that local markets offer great produce from local farms and artisan producers.”
Clitheroe Market, which features traditional stalls and cabins, sells everything from local meats, cheeses and pastries as well as having a Polish delicatessen and an Asian deli. There are also stalls selling household goods and clothing.
The market, on the traditional bullring is held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
