It’s Showtime!
It’s that time of year again when one of the UK’s top agricultural shows sets up in the heart of the Ribble Valley, attracting thousands of visitors to the region
The exciting run-up to the Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show (RLAS) is underway with a host of wonderful exhibits and activities, making this one the most impressive shows in the country.
Under the auspices and guidance of new President Kevin Horkin and RLAS Chairman Colin Mustoe, the show is set to be even bigger and better this year.
Attracting up to 20,000 visitors over the three-day extravaganza, the show will once again be held in the extensive grounds of Salebury Hall on the banks of the River Ribble – the perfect rural location!
“As the new President I can assure visitors of a very warm Lancashire welcome,” says Kevin, a long-standing animal welfare campaigner.
“As one of the largest rural authorities in the county it is fantastic to see such a prestigious event held in the heart of the Ribble Valley. It showcases everything that is good about Lancashire.”
This year attractions include show jumping, Shetland pony Grand National, falconry, goats, ferrets, a Military Village, a funfair, dogs, bee-keeping, sheep, Children’s Village, vintage tractors, Thwaites’ Shire horses, live music, light and heavy horses, premier shopping opportunities in the marquees along with first-class food and dining experiences – representing a fantastic day out for all the family!
“There’s always something new, the show just goes from strength to strength. While we had some inclement weather last year, it didn’t put visitors off, but we’ve put our order in for some sunshine this year!” adds Kevin.
“Our Chairman Colin Mustoe is a beacon in terms of pushing the event forward every year, working together with his team to constantly deliver a superb show.”
Tickets for the show are available online along with special offers and RLAS membership opportunities. The website also has contact details for sponsorship and exhibitor enquiries.
