LANCASHIRE’S WEDDING VENUE OF THE YEAR

Despite being the oldest family home in Lancashire and located only 10 minutes from Clitheroe, few people know of Browsholme Hall

Coming away from the 2017 Marketing Lancashire’s Tourism Awards with first place in three categories, including Wedding Venue of the Year, the recently restored 18th century Tithe Barn at Browsholme Hall provides the ideal backdrop for a unique wedding. Welcoming couples from as near as the North West and as far as Australia, Browsholme is constantly developing in a mission to provide the perfect venue.

This may cause some consternation amongst current and prospective couples, as the courtyard outside the Tithe Barn is currently undergoing a radical transformation to create a more intimate outdoor space for receptions and evening parties. As I write it looks like a building site, but fear not, in a couple of weeks’ time (before the wedding season resumes) the landscape will once again be seamlessly restored into a picturesque setting that brides and grooms know and love.

Moreover, due to a profound shortage of accommodation within the Ribble Valley for guests and family alike, Browsholme Hall and the Tithe Barn have been granted planning permission for 10 micro-lodges. Will these be an eye-sore you ask? No, for these small luxury ‘glamping’ pods are to be located within woodland just 100 yards from the barn, meaning that from this summer, it’ll only be a short stagger until you’re tucked up in bed for a quiet night’s sleep!

As if the promise of a bed and picture perfect gardens aren’t enough, an on-site wood fired pizza oven has been installed, run by the locally inspired Bowbearer’s catering company. So after having worked up a hunger after a couple of hours dancing, or maybe you just want to soak up the alcohol, Bowbearer’s will cook up what seems like an endless supply of pizza. Whether you’re a pepperoni person, or prefer the more simple taste of a margherita, there’ll be something there to satisfy the hunger, and with the promise of more flavours in development, everyone will be happy.

Set in the heart of the Forest of Bowland, Browsholme does not have a standard ‘wedding format’. Each wedding is tailored to the individual’s ideas and preferences, meaning it really is Lancashire’s most exclusive wedding venue.
