Ribble Valley Care Home, located in the pretty village of Sawley, is surrounded by beautiful countryside and sits in its own grounds and central courtyard.

The home is part of family-owned Townfield Care, which is committed to providing the highest standards of care across its portfolio. Townfield is run by brothers John and Michael Timmins who have extensive experience in the care sector and as part of a recent £2m investment, they have built an additional 23 rooms and 10 premium rooms at their Ribble Valley Care Home, which has been especially adapted and designed to help residents with dementia to live life to the full in a safe and comfortable environment.

The home has taken care of many residents with dementia including professional footballers. Studies have shown that footballers are far more likely to develop dementia and other serious neurological diseases, so it was a fitting tribute recently when ex-England player Gary Neville offered to officially open the new extension at Ribble Valley Care Home: “This is an absolutely lovely property and I’m really pleased that Townfied Care can offer this specialist care,” he said. “This is a critical facility delivering services that are much needed, not just for football players, but to people across the North West.”

Well thought-out design at Ribble Valley Care Home, enables residents to benefit on every level – rooms are colour-coded throughout and signage is pictorial as well as in lettering. There is also a lovely conservatory for residents to enjoy throughout the seasons with stunning views of the mature gardens and river beyond.

Activity co-ordinators ensure residents are involved in various experiences on a daily basis whether that’s feeding the ducks or enjoying lunch out at the local country inn.

The home offers single occupancy rooms, some with en-suite, all with a call bell system so help can be accessed quickly and easily, while the décor throughout is fresh and welcoming. There is also an on-site kitchen where home-cooked, nutritious meals are provided.

With a mission statement to provide specialised personal care, Ribble Valley Care Home aims to give all residents the very best quality of life by taking into account their physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs. Independence and dignity are at the heart of the services they provide, as owners Michael and John Timmins explain: “We have an amazing team who are personable and really care about the people they are looking after. Our aim is to achieve the highest standards of care and lead the sector through our ideas and innovation.”

As well as Ribble Valley Care Home, Townfield Care has care homes in Great Harwood and Rishton, plus a Home Care Agency that covers Hyndburn, Ribble Valley and Rossendale.
