LODGE LIVING

If you fancy a well-earned break, or just need a little extra space at home, lodges, pods, garden rooms and shepherd’s huts could be just the thing

As the need for a perfect work life balance becomes the aim for many, we see new luxury lodge sites springing up across the country and the Ribble Valley is no exception.

Private homes too are discovering the advantage of pods and garden rooms to use as offices, cinema rooms and home gyms.

Being virtually maintenance free they require little in the way of upkeep, it’s purely a matter of personalising your own space. Once finished, you are free to enjoy your own little piece of the Ribble Valley.

Whether it’s a hamlet of private shepherd’s huts or a site of eco-friendly lodges, you can get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and take a short, well-earned break.

Within a short drive, there are many and varied holiday villages in the Ribble Valley, as well as some unique tucked-away places in magical settings. For a weekend or for longer, take advantage of the great outdoors, visiting pretty local villages and landmarks or if the weather is inclement light the wood burning stove and snuggle up in an ultimately cosy environment.

When the sun comes out, get the barbecue going and enjoy the hot tub – an evening of fun under the stars. A holiday home or weekend ‘pod’ is a great way to relax and unwind. For a romantic getaway, time spent with friends or a fun-filled family break, holiday villages also offer a whole host of activities – from archery and horse-riding to falconry and four-wheel drive experiences.

Lodges, pods and garden rooms have come a long way. They are a great investment! Built to last using the highest quality materials and situated in the most desirable locations ensures they retain their value, whether that’s on a site or in a private garden, where they can really add value to a property.

While being eco-friendly and practically maintenance-free they are also extremely economical to run. Lodges can of course be purchased and used solely as a holiday home or holiday lets but more and more are being bought as homes to live in, as many sites have all year-round licences. Buying a lodge is easy and you can buy off-plan which gives you the option to choose the location and personally design the interior to suit you.

Whether you are looking for a luxury lodge site, or a pretty and practical garden room, there are numerous sizes from which to choose and the interior design options are endless, and without the time constraints of a traditional build, you could see your pod or lodge take shape in a matter of weeks!
