Make 2019 Your Year

Get ready to make it the best year yet!

We’re almost at the end of January and 2018 already seems in the dim and distant past. For many people, January brings about the start of a new chapter and gives us a chance to reflect on what we want to do or change in our lives. For most it will simply be to stay healthy and happy, but for others it will be new jobs, moving to a new house, losing weight, travelling more or trying new challenges.

However, another year also means another year older and staying young could be on some people’s agenda. With the increase in popularity of non-surgical treatments, plus surgery is much more widely available as we have excellent facilities right here in the north west, changing your look doesn’t have to cost the earth or be a painful procedure. Combine that with looking after yourself and setting yourself new lifestyle goals and 2019 could be your best year yet.

Try replacing a bad habit with a new one. The New Year’s resolution might be a long-standing tradition for many, and although you might not have managed to achieve your goals in the past, stay positive. Set yourself small targets, wanting to change too many things at once will result in disaster. Think about what you really want and do your research. If you want to change your lifestyle, don’t always think you have to join a gym that you’ll find yourself not going to after a couple of months. Look around at dance classes, walking groups, rock climbing clubs etc. Not only will you enjoy what you are doing, but you are more likely to carry it on, plus you’ll get to meet new people too. Why not set up an Instagram account and share your stories with other people?

The big resolution in a new year is giving up smoking. Try to cut down initially rather than cut out straight away and when you feel the urge, go for a walk or do something to take your mind off it.

Once you’ve stopped, you’ll have more energy and look better too. Quitting smoking can improve your appearance, as blood flow gets better, your skin receives more oxygen and nutrients.

If you plan ahead, keep yourself organised and focused, get support from your family and friends and you’ll be unstoppable.

A whole year lies in waiting – what are you going to do with it?
