Making Sunday Lunch Memorable

Treat yourself to a Sunday away from the kitchen and enjoy a different take on the classic weekend treat along with a glass of something nice, writes Katie Hammond

Since opening its doors in June this year, the beautifully converted Barclay’s bank building on Castle Street, Clitheroe, is staged for the second act in the success story of Will’s in Barrowford.

Will’s in Clitheroe’s has a winning combination of industrial and contemporary, with its cosy booths and warm lighting, coupled with a delicious choice of Will’s signature small plates to enjoy with an array of award-winning wines and beers, makes this town centre gem the perfect venue for a quick catch up with friends or for a more intimate celebration.

Explaining why listening to guests influences menu changes and updates, owner Will Farnworth says: “We have been blown away by the positive reception and warm welcome we’ve received in Clitheroe. We love feedback about what our customers would like to see from us and something that’s been mentioned is somewhere to enjoy a Sunday roast in the centre of town – this has also been a popular request from our Barrowford customers.

“We’ve listened to them and have, of course, added the unique Will’s twist to the traditional and loved Sunday staple – we’re really looking forward to welcoming diners to enjoy what we’ve created from local, carefully-sourced produce. The different course options also offer great value for money.”

Whether it’s the Sunday lunch menu, featuring delights such as roasted rib of Ribble Valley Hereford beef, Yorkshire pudding and red wine beef sauce and Middlewhite pork belly with a toffee apple sauce, or a few of Will’s famous small tapas-style plates to accompany a glass of wine, there’s something to suit every taste and mood.

Looking back on the story so far, Will reflects: “Since opening in Barrowford five years ago, our ethos has always been that we just do the simple things really well. We pride ourselves on our fantastic team and their friendly service – it’s personal but casual. We just want everyone who joins us to have a great time.”

Experience the best of Clitheroe and Barrowford – one plate, one glass and one memorable moment at a time.
