The Dashing Farmhouse recently announced the launch of the Casa Deia Collection featuring artisanal, Mallorcan homeware handcrafted on the island
Given the fact that one half of The Dashing Farmhouse founders was born and raised in Mallorca, having an artisanal homeware collection from the island was a must!
Mallorca is home to some of the most wonderful products created by fabulous family businesses that have been using traditional crafting methods passed down the generations.
The Dashing Farmhouse works directly with these people, who have been using the same ways of working since the 1800s and who are extremely proud of these beautiful products that represent such wonderful heritage. With great knowledge and appreciation for the craftsmanship involved, the new generations have embraced these traditions with immense respect and with a vision that blends tradition with contemporary design and colours. The results are simply exquisite.
The textile created by the artisans – the traditional Mallorcan Ikat fabric – uses a process that requires two to three months to create a single batch! The quality is second to none with a wonderful mix of linen and cotton. The fabric is then used to create cushions, tablemats, lamp shades and chair covers amongst many other items.
Mallorca’s understated glamour and rustic Mediterranean landscape have always had a fascinating appeal. In more recent years, a number of highly prestigious international fashion designers and artists have started to highlight the wonderful craftmanship that can be found on the island and one can now spot certain products in some selective, beautiful boutique hotels around the world.
However, the island still remains somewhat of a hidden jewel. The team at The Dashing Farmhouse are extremely proud to be able to introduce this gorgeous artisanal collection of beautifully handcrafted products, many of which have an extremely elaborate creation process.
